Hollow body with iron insert for the production of fire-proof wooden beam ceilings.
The present invention relates primarily to a hollow body with an iron insert, which is intended to be used for the production of fire-proof wooden beam ceilings and which can be made either from plaster of paris, concrete, cement or similar materials. The purpose of the invention is to make wood beam ceilings fire-proof by using the hollow bodies mentioned. The drawing shows the new invention and shows Fig. 1 the new hollow body between two ceiling beams in cross section, Fig. 2 a perspective view of the hollow body and Fig. 3 a finished ceiling in cross section.
The hollow body n expediently has a curved shape at its upper end and is

cracks b are equipped on the one hand with groove-like depressions c, on the other hand with spring-like projections d so that the juxtaposition of the hollow bodies

of the closest hollow body engages. Furthermore, the side walls of the hollow body are provided with recesses e, into which short blocks y attached to the ceiling joists f are inserted and thus hold the hollow bodies a in their position.
The hollow bodies a are pushed from below against the ceiling joists f, the plate-like projections h coming to rest against one another in such a way that the lower surface of the ceiling joists is completely fireproof. The vault-like design of the upper surface of the hollow body a has the purpose of bringing about a better transfer of the compressive stresses produced by the touch to the side walls.
The hollow body a is provided with iron inlays, which are set in concrete and consist of a wire rod h, weaker longitudinal rods i and transverse brackets k. The main purpose of the wire rods h is to advantageously absorb and evenly distribute the compressive forces that act on the wooden blocks and the side walls through the vault-like cover plate. The rest of the iron insert has the purpose of increasing the stability of the hollow body per se z. increase. The hollow body also has round bars 1 and grooves It on the end faces on the upper and lower half, so that a good closure of the joints is achieved even when the stones are placed against one another in the longitudinal direction.
In order to make the upper surface of the beam ceiling also fire-proof, the beams / * are clad in a known manner either with insulated cardboard m then with an intermediate material n and finally with linoleum o. However, first a wire mesh M, then concrete n and then a fire-proof plate o can be used. In this way, the beams are covered in a fire-proof manner on all sides, so that the purpose mentioned at the beginning is achieved.
