Pupln armature for switching on overhead lines.
Sol self induction coils, so-called Pupin coils, for overhead lines are built into a metallic housing in order to protect them mechanically and electrically. The coil is insulated within the housing. Up to now, these housings have been attached to the rods of the lines using metallic devices such as iron clamps and the like. The housing had practically the potential of the earth, because the insulation of the linkage can be set to zero compared to the rest of the insulation. However, there is a risk with this arrangement that static charges in the line with atmospheric electricity, such as. B. the strike of lightning in the line, equalize by destroying the insulation of the Pupin's coil via the metallic coil housing to earth.
According to the invention, the above disadvantages are avoided in that the Pupin coil is attached to the rod with the interposition of double insulation. On the one hand the coil is isolated in the metal housing, on the other hand the housing is from
Rod insulated again. It is achieved in that the metal housing receives the same potential as the coil when a static charge occurs, so that such
The charge is balanced in the normal way via activated lightning rods and does not find its way to earth via the housing, destroying the coil insulation. Such an arrangement offers a robust protection of the coil by the
Metal housing compared to the obvious means of reinforcing the coil insulation has the advantage of easier manufacture and lower manufacturing costs.
In the arrangement shown in the drawing, a is used to attach the
Coil armature on the linkage of the overhead line serving support. This has at the tip an insulator b, for example provided with a thread, on which the metallic coil housing c can be fastened by means of a projection d. The coil e is fixed in the interior of the housing and is separated from the same by the insulation j.
