<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
Strebe 6 beaufschlagt und ihn somit hochschwenken will.

The invention relates to a clothes dryer with a stand mast and a head part at its upper end, from which struts are articulated from above to the support arms which project obliquely upwards when the clothes dryer is open. The support arms carry the clotheslines and are articulated with their lower ends to a runner which can be moved up and down on the stand mast in order to swing open the support arms for opening the clothesline and to close them again for closing.
[0002] Such laundry spiders are very common and their basic functions such as opening and closing and use are well known. In order to be able to take up larger quantities of laundry, large washing spiders are used, but these then have the disadvantage that it is no longer so easy to stretch them, especially not for a person of dainty constitution. In order to be able to supply the clothes dryer again after use, the support arms have to be swiveled closed until the runner clicks into its locking position at its lowest position. Usually, a cover is then placed over the folded clothes dryer and it can then be supplied in a space-saving manner. With each use, the clothesline must be removed and then opened again.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
[0003] In the collapsed starting position, the support arms, together with the associated struts articulated to them, each form an elongated one
Spreading leg pair that lies close to the mast and runs almost parallel to it. To put the laundry spider into operation, the cover is pulled off and then the runner is released from its detent. Often this is used
Cord attached to the pawl on the runner. If this cord is pulled, the runner is released from its lock and can be moved upwards. The weight of the support arms must first be lifted by the runner. The force to be overcome then decreases continuously in order to
Conclusion, to increase the tension of the laundry ropes passed through the support arms.
In its upper end position, the runner clicks into one
Lock so that the clothesline remains open. Unfolding the support arms or pushing up the runner requires a fairly large one
Exertion of force, especially until the support arms have reached a certain deflection and until the runner can finally be locked on the mast. This problem of operation is exacerbated, particularly in the case of large laundry spiders. Conversely, when the support arms are swung shut, it is uncomfortable that they press harder on the runner with increasing inclination and therefore swivel in dangerously quickly.
The object of the invention is to design a laundry spider in such a way that the pushing-up and unfolding of the support arms takes place partially automatically and only a reasonable manual assistant is required to open and also to close the spider and to lock the runner.
[0005] This object is achieved by a clothes dryer with a stand mast and a head part at its upper end, from which struts are articulated from above to the support arms which project obliquely upwards when the clothes dryer is open, which support arms carry the clotheslines and are connected at their lower ends to a runner which can be moved up and down on the stand mast and which is characterized in that there is at least one spring by means of which the clothes dryer can be partially

opens mathematically. Specific embodiments of the invention are defined in dependent claims 2 to 10.
In a proposal according to the invention is by a tension spring, which is arranged in the interior of the stand mast, for spreading the
Support arms or force required to push up the runner practically eliminated, in another proposal the support arms are pivoted apart for this purpose against the struts force of spreading springs. In both cases, the laundry spider opens automatically by means of the spring or springs, that is, almost automatically, at least with very little manual effort. Only a reasonable handle is required to lock the slide in the upper and lower position. Unclamping and also folding the laundry spider is therefore considerably simplified and facilitated.
[0007] Exemplary embodiments of the invention are illustrated and explained below with the aid of the accompanying drawings.
It shows:
Figure 1 shows a part of an opened clothes dryer in one
Longitudinal section;
FIG. 2 shows a laundry spider folded in a longitudinal section;
FIG. 3 shows an advantageous variant of the clothes dryer with a partial view of the stand mast with the runner and the support arms articulated thereon in a longitudinal section;

Figure 6: a variant with spreading springs between the struts and the stand mast.
Figure 1 shows part of a substantially self-opening and spanned here clothes dryer 1 in a longitudinal section. It has four support arms 3, which are arranged at the same distance from one another around a vertically standing stand mast 2 and serve as a carrier for a laundry rope, which is not shown here, however, but by the ones visible in the support arms
Holes. The connection of the support arms 3 to the stand mast 2 takes place, on the one hand, via a runner 4, which is arranged so as to be displaceable along the stand mast 2 and to which the respective lower end of the support arms 3 is fastened pivotably about an axis 5. On the other hand, the support arms 3 are suspended from the head piece 7 located at the upper end of the stand mast 2 via struts 6.
The struts 6 are articulated on the support arms 3 by means of articulated bolts 8 and are mounted on the head piece 7 by means of retaining bolts 9. By moving the runner 4 upwards, the support arms 3 are spread outwards and the spider is opened. To make it easier to open the spider,
Inside the stand mast 2, a tension spring 10 is arranged, with its lower
End 11 is firmly connected to the stand mast 2. The upper movable end
12 of the spring 10 is firmly connected to a rope 13, which is guided over a fixed deflection roller 14 arranged above the displacement path of the rotor 4 on the stand mast. From there, the rope runs through an opening in the
Stand wall through this and afterwards on the outside of the stand
Runner 4 down and is attached to it.
Is the clothes dryer open or
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
opened, as shown in Figure 1, the rotor 4 is in its uppermost position and the spring 10 is almost completely contracted and relaxed. Runner 4 can be locked at this uppermost position, and laundry spider 1 is thus ready to receive the laundry. To fold the clothes dryer 1, the runner 4 is unlocked and pushed down. At the same time, the ends of the support arms 3 are pivoted together against the stand mast 2. Due to the downward movement, the runner 4 pulls the traction cable 13 out of the stand mast 2 via the deflection roller 14, as a result of which the spring 10 is tensioned in the same way. The spring 10 is thus increasingly tensioned by the pivoting of the support arms 3.
When the runner 4 has reached its lowest position on the stand mast 2, it snaps into a lock there and then the support arms 3 and the struts 6 run almost parallel to the stand mast 2, and the spring 10 is fully tensioned. The support arms 3 can subsequently be tied together with a band or a hose-like cover can be pulled over the folded clothes dryer. The laundry spider is thus transportable on the one hand and protected against contamination on the other hand. When setting up or using the clothes dryer 1 again, the cover is first pulled off and the band holding the support arms 3 together is removed.
When the support arms 3 of the clothes dryer 1 are subsequently opened, only a very small amount of force is required to actuate the pawl on the rotor 4 by means of a cord, so that it is released from its locking. The force of the spring 10 then opens the laundry spider almost automatically, i.e. with very little effort, depending on the design of the spring, because the tensioned spring 10 pulls with its spring force on the rope 13 and this pulls the runner 4 via the deflection roller 14 above. In this way, the tensioned spring 10 almost automatically opens and thus facilitates the pushing up of the rotor 4 and thus the setting up of the clothes dryer. At the end the runner 4 has to be pushed into its uppermost position and locked with a reasonable handle.
To do this, push it a little higher by hand so that its pawl snaps onto a pawl edge there on the mast. The design of the spring force is important. This must be such that a compromise
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
between the spring force support for opening or unfolding the clothes dryer and the reverse effort required for closing or
Closing the clothesline is achieved because the stronger the spring helps opening, the greater the force that must be overcome when closing.
If the spring were to be designed so strong that the opening would take place automatically, the laundry spider would be dangerous for the operator in that the support arms could swing outwards suddenly and could dangerously hit the operator or a person standing next to him. In addition, the closing would then be tedious, since the support arms would have to be folded down while overcoming too much spring force, which would be cumbersome or even impossible for a petite person. The spring force must therefore be selected so that the support arms of the clothes dryer are kept in equilibrium with the spring force over most of their movement path, so that ultimately the entire mechanical work to be performed by the operator to open the support arms on the one hand and to close them on the other hand is the same size.
Up to now, opening without a spring has been very energy-intensive with large laundry spiders, and closing it is not without danger, because as soon as the lock of the runner is released in its upper position, it whizzes downwards and the support arms fold like pocket knife blades against the stand mast. The closing process must therefore be braked with the same great force that is required for opening. With the spring, on the other hand, the forces can be kept somewhat in balance with the spring force over the entire path of movement of the runner, so that both opening and closing is made considerably easier.
Figure 2 shows the partially automatically opening clothes dryer 1 in the folded state. The rotor 4 is in its lowest position on the stand mast 2. The support arms 3 and the struts 6 run almost parallel to the stand mast 2 and the spring 10 is fully tensioned. With its spring force, it pulls on the rope 13, which is guided over the deflection roller 14 through the stand wall on the outside of the stand to the rotor 4 and fastened there.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
The clothes dryer 1 can in the folded state for protection
Cover is pulled over and it is thus ready for supply.
A further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the automatically opening clothes dryer is shown in FIG. In this embodiment, namely, a loose roller 15 is connected to the upper movable end 12 of the tension spring 10. The rope 13 is starting from the runner 4 to the top
Deflection roller 14, then from the deflection roller 14 in the interior of the stand mast down to this loose roller 15, around the loose roller and from there in the interior of the stand up again, where it is finally in the area 16 of the
Deflection roller 14 is fixed stationary inside the stand. However, the cable 13 can also be fastened at a different location above the deflection roller 14, for example on the head piece 7.
Through this additional loose roller 15, a pulley for the rope 13 is formed, and it is achieved that the spring travel of the spring
10 is halved compared to the displacement path of the rotor 4. This means that the spring 10 in this exemplary embodiment is only pulled out or stretched half as far as the spring shown in the first exemplary embodiment, and that therefore shorter, but stronger springs can be used with this construction. A steel tension spring comes in for the spring 10, for example
Question. However, it is also conceivable to use a gas tension spring. Again, the design of the spring force must be given the greatest attention, so that it compensates for the force acting on it due to the mechanics of the support arms 3 and the struts over most of the movement path of the rotor 4.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 3, the guide roller 14 is in one
Inserted 17, which is inserted from the outside through a recess in the stator tube wall. If the insert 17 is inserted into the recess and fastened to the upright tube wall, the axis of the deflection roller 14 comes to lie near the wall. The radius of the deflection roller 14 is selected such that both the rope 13 laid over the roller 14 and led to the rotor 4 on the outside of the stator as well as the rope 13 led downwards to the upper end 12 of the tension spring 10 or to the loose roller 15 enough of that
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
The outer wall or from the inner wall of the stand 2 is spaced so as not to rub on these walls.
The insert 17 has an inwardly directed profile extension 18 above the deflecting roller 14, to which the stationary end of the rope guided by the deflecting roller 14 over the loose roller 15 is fastened.
In a simpler embodiment, the deflection roller 14 can be installed directly in the stator tube wall, d. H. In the area of a slot-like recess in the stator tube wall, the axis of the deflection roller 14 is fastened to the stator tube wall. The radius of the deflection roller 14 is again selected such that the rope 13 placed over the roller 14 and guided down the inner and outer wall of the stand is sufficiently spaced from the stand tube wall.
In a variant, which is shown in Figure 4, the partially automatic opening of the clothes dryer takes place by means of one or more spreading springs 20. Each of these spreading springs 20 is arranged here around the bolt 8, on each of which a strut 6 on an associated support arm 3 is articulated. Each spreading spring 20 arranged in this way has two legs, which enclose an angle here and which are preloaded in such a way that they want to pivot towards one another. One leg is then attached to the support arm 3, while the other leg is attached to the associated strut 6, so that the legs enclose the angle between the strut 6 and the support arm 3, which faces the column mast 2.
By means of these spreading springs 20, the construction is held approximately in a force equilibrium over a large part of the displacement path of the rotor 4, so that both the opening and the closing of the clothes dryer are possible with only a small amount of force.
FIG. 5 shows another variant of how the spreading springs can be arranged. In the example shown, the spreading springs 21 have a different preload. Your legs want to swing apart due to the spring force. The spreading springs 21 are arranged so that their legs

each include the angle between strut 6 and support arm 3, which is facing away from the mast 2. In this way, the legs press on the struts 6 and the support arms 3 on which they rest. Here, too, the construction is kept approximately in balance of forces over a large part of the displacement path of the rotor 4.
Finally, Figure 6 shows another embodiment in which the
Spreading springs 22 act between the stand mast 2 and the struts 6. The
Spreading springs 22 are preloaded in such a way that their legs constantly want to pivot away from one another. One leg is then stationary on
Stand mast 2 mounted, while the other leg from below each one
Strut 6 applied and thus wants to swing it up. With this variant, the same goal is ultimately achieved, namely the construction using one
Maintaining a large part of the displacement path of the runner 4 approximately in a force equilibrium and thus making the operation of the clothes dryer considerably easier.
With the laundry spider according to the invention, irrespective of the design, whether by means of a steel or gas tension spring in the interior of the stand mast or by means of differently arranged spreading springs, the unfolding of the laundry spider is made considerably easier. Most of the opening or opening of the clothes dryer takes place almost automatically, i.e. semi-automatically. Only a minor manager has to be employed and only the last part of the sliding movement of the runner has to be mastered by hand with a slightly increased, but still reasonable effort. Finally, the
Runners for locking can only be pushed in slightly by hand.
Closing the clothes dryer or swiveling the support arms in is also more convenient, since they can be swiveled in by hand with little force, and do not fold up suddenly as before. Overall, a laundry spider of this type has a significantly increased ease of use.
