The outer air penetrates through the wire mesh jacket of the outer cylinder o and is then directed downwards to the flame through the annular space between the glass cylinder f and the sheet metal socket d; the combustion gas and the hot air are drawn off through the upper sieve-shaped part e of the pulling cylinder and the outer wire mesh jacket c of the lantern.

The lantern described is very handy because it takes up very little space and is not very sensitive because the glass cylinder in the closed state is almost completely surrounded by the wire mesh jacket and is therefore protected from breakage. Furthermore, the flame is completely protected from being extinguished, even in the case of the strongest drafts, so that the lantern is particularly suitable for tourist purposes.

  PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Collapsible lantern, characterized in that the fuel container is collapsible connected to an attachment effecting the air supply and the removal of the combustion gases with the interposition of a housing made of translucent material.
