in diesen hineingelangt.

The purpose of the invention is to generate combustion gases under pressure in an economical and effective manner for the purpose of being used as propellants for driving turbines and the like. s. w. to serve.
To generate such a gas under pressure, a combustible gas (e.g. a gas generator) and air under pressure are burned in a closed chamber, from which the resulting combustion gases emerge in the form of one or more streams at high speed, and the task here is first to bring about the combustion in a perfect manner, which can only be done by first heating the air to a high degree, and then, as much as possible, to avoid heat loss by radiation from the combustion chamber.
According to the invention, these two purposes are achieved by a special design of the apparatus. A metal housing, preferably of cylindrical shape, which is hermetically sealed at the top by means of a cover, carries a central tube, suitably made of nickel, which is inserted into a hole in the middle of the cover and which protrudes slightly into the housing with its inner end. A number of concentric thin-walled metal cylinders, preferably made of nickel, are inserted into the housing and these are arranged so that narrow annular spaces remain between their side walls and also between their upper and lower ends, the

are used.
The mentioned central tube at the middle of the lid is connected to the innermost cylinder, which forms the actual combustion chamber, through an opening.
With a concentric recess on the cover surrounding the cylinder, a tube for the supply of air under pressure is connected and within this recess there are openings in the top of a cylinder, with openings in the bottom of a cylinder and with the

got into this. The number of cylinders surrounding one another can be different.
The supply of flammable gas into the outer end of the central tube inserted into the lid takes place through a tube which is connected to a gas generator which supplies gas under pressure. The gas can enter the interior of the tube in thin streams through side openings in the inner end of the central tube, which are close to the opening of the innermost cylinder, and here it can mix intimately with air. An igniter is inserted into an opening at the inner end of the central tube, through which the complete combustion of the mixture is glued. The combustion gases generated under pressure with which the
