As the velocity of the gas and air flow through the device increases, the air is drawn through without mixing with the steam and intensifying the flame, so the percentage of superheated gas that is generated per cubic meter of air is reduced becomes as soon as the speed of the air flow increases.
The overheating and thus the achievement of stable gases is best achieved at low speeds, since a more intimate mixture takes place if the gases are not moving very quickly. It is therefore desirable to assist in the formation of a perfect mixture by allowing the air to flow in at a point or places where the velocity of the mixture is lowest and withdrawing the mixture at the point or places of highest velocity.
If the air supply is restricted, too large an amount of steam condensable at low temperatures is generated, which must be avoided. Therefore, according to the invention, the air is admitted through an opening or openings which are significantly larger than the vent or vents for the superheated gas. In this way, the air enters at a relatively low speed and exits at its highest speed, and at the same time it becomes possible to mix the steam in the combustion chamber as well as possible.
Another object of the invention is to generate steam at a temperature which is sufficiently high to enable constant combustion to take place without interfering with the generation of a gas of appropriate calorific value. According to the invention, means are provided for effectively increasing the steam temperature in order to heat the fuel in the container prior to combustion. This can be done in a number of ways. such as B. happen that either the eberhitzungsflamme and the heated gases or the exhaust gases from the machine are passed around or under the trough containing the fuel.
In the drawing, an embodiment of such a device is shown in vertical section, in which the fuel in the trough is heated thereby. that the overheating flame and the heated gases pass through and under the trough containing the fuel. so that the fuel in the trough is heated for the purpose of heat regeneration to generate gases.
A circular metal trough C is arranged in a circular metal housing L.

Pump or the like. Is supplied. The level of the fuel in the trough ('is determined by the height of the fine chiller pipe B. By the fact that excess fuel is diverted from the device. The fuel supply must not exceed the amount required for use too much, otherwise a relatively large part the heat of the fuel is dissipated.
A small deflector A1 is arranged above the supply pipe A, which is intended to prevent the supplied liquid fuel from splitting upwards.
In the trough is a ring-shaped one. Preferably arranged from asbestos made wick D for igniting the fuel. The bottom of the trough ('carries a tube or tubes F2 which are open at the top and bottom and serve as exhausts for the gases and lead them downwards into the chamber H between the trough C and the housing 7, from where the gases pass through the Outlet K to the machine. The pipes F2 support a deflector F. which has the shape of a truncated cone,

encloses. As a result of this arrangement, the deflector can be easily removed for cleaning.
The deflector hangs close to the fuel in the trough C and is surrounded and covered by a cover C, which is supported on the lower edge of the deflector and can be removed with it.
The device is closed by means of a cover E hinged to the housing L at EI. In the side wall of the same several openings closed by means of flaps E2 are provided, which let in air under substantially atmospheric pressure and the flaps prevent the flame from blowing out of the device when the suction effect of the machine decreases.
EMI2.3
It can be seen that the cover G of the deflector F directs the air and the flame in the chamber outside the deflector downwards against the fuel in the trough C, so that the mixture of flame and air becomes more intimate as a result.
It can also be seen that the air in the

The discharge chamber enters around its edge, but is withdrawn through the pipes F so that the flow velocity is greatest when flowing out and smallest when air entering.
