Gleiche Bezugszeichen bedeuten in beiden Figuren gleiche Einzelteile.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a heating device according to the preamble of claim 1.
In known heating devices of this type, separate devices arranged in separate housings, in other words a fuel cell arrangement and an additional burner with a separate heat exchanger, are provided, the exhaust gases of the fuel cell arrangement possibly being conducted via a separate heat exchanger.
This results in the disadvantage of considerable design effort.
It is known from WO 94/18712 A1 that a fuel cell and an additional heating device can be accommodated in a common housing. However, the housing only takes on the function of a panel.
It is also known from EP 818 840 A1 that a fuel cell can be combined with an additional burner. There is no indication of a technical function of a housing.
It is therefore not known from the prior art how a combination of a fuel cell with an additional heating device or additional burner can be designed such that the escape of harmful gases from the device can be avoided and heat losses can be reduced.
The aim of the invention is to avoid these disadvantages of the prior art and to propose a heating device of the type mentioned at the outset which is distinguished by a very simple construction and which takes into account safety-relevant and energy-saving aspects.
According to the invention, this is achieved in a heating device of the type mentioned at the outset by the characterizing features of claim 1.
The proposed measures result in a very simple construction, in which there are very few lines to be installed on site. A very extensive use of the heat generated in the fuel cell arrangement is possible, as a result of which the proposed heating device is also distinguished by a high degree of efficiency.
Due to the proposed arrangement in the housing or the vacuum chamber and the selected air duct, in the event of an error, for example B. in the event of CO leakage from the reformer of the fuel cell, it can be ensured that no dangerous gases or exhaust gases can get into the installation room.
The features of claim 2 give the advantage of a particularly simple construction.
In principle, however, it is also possible to provide separate heat exchangers for the exhaust gases from the fuel cell arrangement and the additional burner, in which case the two heat exchangers can be adapted precisely to the prevailing conditions.
The features of claim 3 result in the advantage that the temperature of the outflowing exhaust gases can be reduced accordingly in cases where the heat consumer connected to the heat exchanger (s) has a low heat requirement. In addition, the operation of the heating device can be controlled on the basis of the detected pressure difference between the interior of the housing and the interior of the exhaust gas collector and / or the exhaust gas temperature.
The bypass opening also makes it possible to decouple the blowers of the additional burner and the fuel cell arrangement and of the exhaust gas blower, in particular if the cross section of the bypass openings is adjustable. As a result, the operation of the heating device can easily be adapted to the respective conditions.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. 1 and 2 schematically show two different embodiments of heating devices according to the invention.
The same reference numerals mean the same individual parts in both figures.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, a fuel cell arrangement 1, which also includes a blower 13, is arranged in a housing 11 designed as a vacuum chamber.
Furthermore, an additional burner 10 is arranged in the housing 11 and is supported by a blower 12 integrated in the latter.
The fuel cell arrangement 1 is connected to a heat exchanger 3 via an exhaust gas line 2 and acts on it. This heat exchanger 3 is also connected to the additional burner 10 via an exhaust pipe 9 and can also be acted upon by the latter.
An exhaust manifold 4 is arranged above the heat exchanger 3, in which an exhaust gas fan 5
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
is arranged, the pressure side is connected to an exhaust pipe 6. The exhaust manifold 4 is provided with bypass openings 8, via which secondary air can flow into the exhaust manifold 4 from the interior of the housing 11. Furthermore, a temperature sensor (not shown in FIG. 1) is provided after the heat exchanger 3 and is connected to a control system of the exhaust gas fan 5, which is also not shown.
A differential pressure sensor that detects the pressure difference between the interior of the housing 11 and the interior of the exhaust manifold 4 is also connected to this control.
The air is fed into the housing 11, which is designed as a vacuum chamber and is therefore tightly sealed, via a common combustion air line 7, which can optionally be led outside through a wall of the installation room.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that instead of the common heat exchanger 3 separate heat exchangers 31, 32 are provided, of which the heat exchanger 31 from the additional burner 10 and the heat exchanger 32 from the fuel cell arrangement 1 is acted upon.
In this case, these heat exchangers 31, 32 are connected to the common exhaust manifold 4 via connecting lines 21 and 91, respectively, in which a temperature sensor for detecting the exhaust gas temperature is provided in this embodiment.
During operation, gas, water and air containing hydrocarbons are fed to the fuel cell arrangement 1 and converted into electrical current and heat in this. The resulting hot exhaust gases are fed to the heat exchanger 32 or the common heat exchanger 3 and heat is extracted from the latter. The cooled exhaust gases then enter the exhaust manifold 4 and are drawn off by the exhaust fan 5.
When the fuel cell arrangement 1 and the additional burner 10 are operated together, or when the additional burner is operated in a solo mode, when only heat is required but no electricity is required, the hot fuel gases of the additional burner 10 reach the heat exchanger 31 or the common heat exchanger 3 and give Heat. The cooled exhaust gases then reach the exhaust manifold 4.
If the exhaust gas temperature after the heat exchanger 3 or in the exhaust manifold 4 exceeds a certain target value, which is detected by the temperature sensor mentioned, the speed of the exhaust gas fan 5 is increased, as a result of which more secondary air from the inside of the housing 11 into the interior of the Exhaust collector 4 can flow in and the temperature of the exhaust gas is reduced. Furthermore, it is also possible to provide an enlargement of the bypass openings 8 of the exhaust manifold 4 instead of increasing the speed of the exhaust fan 5. All that is required is to provide the bypass openings 8 with adjustable or controllable flaps.
Conversely, if the exhaust gas temperature is below a certain value, the speed of the exhaust gas blower 5 is reduced or the cross section of the bypass openings 8 is reduced in order to save energy.
Furthermore, the speed of the exhaust fan 5 depends on the differential pressure between the interior of the housing 11 and the exhaust manifold 4. Thus, if the differential pressure falls below a target value, the speed of the exhaust gas blower 5 is increased, the cross section of the bypass openings 8 is increased, or conversely, if the differential pressure is too high, the speed of the exhaust gas blower is reduced, or the cross section of the bypass openings 8 reduced.
Furthermore, as seen in the flow direction of the exhaust gas flow, the exhaust gas temperature can be detected after the exhaust gas fan 5 by means of a sensor, not shown, which is connected to the control of the exhaust gas fan 5. If a predetermined target value is exceeded, the speed of the exhaust gas blower 5 is increased or the cross section of the bypass openings 8 is increased, and conversely if the temperature falls below a certain temperature, the speed of the exhaust gas blower 5 is reduced or the cross section of the bypass openings 8 is reduced.
