<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 2 eine Schnittansicht einer erfindungsgemässen Kabelklemme
Fig. 3 eine axonometrische Ansicht der Gehäuseüberwurfmutter

The present invention relates to a cable clamp for watertight pull and twist protection of electrical cables according to claim 1.
Such cable clamps are used, for example, when electrical conductors are to be inserted into electrical apparatus. Outside of these devices, the electrical conductors are routed in cables. When transitioning from the cable to the electrical device, it is necessary to secure the cable against pulling and twisting, and to prevent water from entering the electrical device from the outside.
Known cable clamps consist of several housing parts that are screwed together. As a result of the screwing together, conical elements arranged on the inside of at least one housing part press onto an elastic conical part which is arranged concentrically with the housing parts and in whose central bore the cable is guided. A disadvantage of the cable clamps according to the prior art is the fact that the cone part is essentially made from one piece. This results in a high resistance from the outside when the cone part is pressed together, and only a limited narrowing of the central bore of the cone part is possible, but this is equivalent to the restriction of the possibility of pressure on the cable guided in the central bore exercise.
Furthermore, the cone parts of the cable clamps must ensure tension and torsion protection, i.e. they must have a high level of strength in order to be able to exert the required holding force on the cable act. These two requirements can only be met to a limited extent by the choice of a single material, as is the case with cable clamps according to the prior art, that is to say a cone part which is designed for optimum tension and torsion protection only partially fulfills the requirement for watertightness and vice versa.
From DE 332 011 B a cone clamp is known which has several cone segments subdivided in the axial direction of the cone, with free spaces between the individual cone segments. However, a sealing lip that prevents water from penetrating into the clamp is not present.
The same applies to the cable clamp disclosed in AU-B-37608/97.
DE 35 28 360 A 1 discloses a plug and screw connection for water pipes. The tightness is a much less critical problem there, since leaks would not result in the pipe being destroyed. There is no sealing lip there, rather an attempt is made to seal over individual collet segments of a plastic part, but this is far less effective.
The aim of the invention is therefore a cable clamp of the type mentioned at the outset, which both protects optimally against the ingress of water and also offers optimum security with regard to a pull and twist protection.
According to the invention this is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.
In addition to that area of the cone part which has the cone segments and which serve as a pull and twist protection, there is a sealing lip which serves to seal against the ingress of water
Due to the slight diameter adjustment of the cone part and the resulting high contact pressure of the inside of the cone part against the cable jacket, the cable clamp according to the invention is also insensitive to different cable jacket designs. So it makes no difference whether the cable sheath is made of PVC, rubber or other materials.
The passage of the cable through the conical part is also very simple, since the central bore can be very large when not in use, but due to the high deformability of the cone segments and the sealing lip there is no disadvantage when applying the pressing force to the cable jacket ,
Due to the features of claim 2, the clamping area of the cone part can be extended as desired without the diameter of the housing having to be increased because the outer diameter of the cone part is limited by the inside diameter of the housing union nut. The area that is responsible for the clamping of the
Cable sheath is responsible Is extended, but without the outer diameter of the cone part

The features of claims 3 and 4 have the effect that the different tasks of the two sections can be dealt with even better by a different choice of material for the two sections on the cone part. The coordination of the tasks takes place not only through the different shapes of the two sections of the cone part but also through the choice of materials. While a very elastic, deformable material can be selected for the section that is responsible for sealing against water, which adapts to the cable sheath, the section of the cone part that is responsible for the pull and twist protection is made of firmer, made of harder material to exert the required holding forces on the cable.
The following is a detailed description of the invention. Show:
1 shows an axonometric view of a cable clamp according to the invention in the screwed-on state
Fig. 2 is a sectional view of a cable clamp according to the invention
Fig. 3 is an axonometric view of the housing nut
In Fig. 1, a cable 1, in which electrical conductors 2 are guided, is guided in the central bore of a cone part 12. The cone part 12 has cone segments 9 which are subdivided in the axial direction 13 of the cone and which merge into cylinder segments 14 in that end region of the cone part 12 with the larger outside diameter. In that end region of the cone part 12 with a smaller outside diameter, the cone segments 9 are connected to one another via a sealing lip 11.
The connection is made both chemically and mechanically, in which different materials are injected into an injection mold in two steps. Viewed in the axial direction 13 of the conical part on both sides, a housing union nut 5 and a basic housing part 4, which is provided with a corrugation 6 and a loss lock 7 (see FIG. 3), are arranged. Both parts each have a self-locking thread 3, 16, which enables a connection of the two parts. The basic housing part 4 can also be provided with a coupling plug-in device 15 or used as a connection to a machine housing (not shown) and has a conical extension 17 on the inside in the area of the thread 3 (see FIG. 2).
In order to activate the watertight pull and twist protection, the housing union nut 5 and the housing base 4 are screwed together until a collar 8 of the housing union nut 5 is brought into contact with the cylinder segments 14 of the cone part 12. Due to the movement in the axial direction 13, a force is exerted on the cone part 12, specifically on the cone segments 9 of the cone part 12 by the extension 17, which in addition to the component in the axial direction also has a radial component, and compresses the cone segments 9 so that one Holding force is exerted on the cable jacket of the cable 1 guided in the central bore of the conical part 12.
Furthermore, a radial force component is exerted on the sealing lip 11, as a result of which it is pressed against the cable jacket and thus prevents water from penetrating into the machine housing.
