<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 4 zeigt die Eckverbindung der Zargen-Profilteile.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The present invention relates to a window or door frame with a frame profile, for framing the side of a window or door opening, and a reveal profile, for cladding the reveal and the lintel, the frame profile having a part for Facade-side framing of a window or door opening, at the area to which the window or door opening lies, a flange part is formed, the frame-profile part and the flange part lying approximately at right angles to one another, so that the flange part is approximately parallel to the reveal or can be aligned to the lintel, thereby encompassing the edge of the window or door opening on the facade
It is known that openings on the outside of the building, in particular windows and doors, by a frame-like construction, i. H. a frame to frame.
There is hardly any alternative for buildings whose outer wall is covered with a facade. In old buildings, the window and door frames are made of wood. As the wood is badly affected by the weather, these window and door frames are often covered with metal. Copper sheet and galvanized sheet are used for this. For renovations or new buildings, frames are used that are made entirely of metal.
In any case, the manufacture and attachment of high-quality window or door frames is labor-intensive and cost-intensive. Those which have become known to date, for example, from GB-2 212 541 A, US-4 034 513 A, US-4 782 630 A and US-5 038 538 Factory-made frames shorten the working time, but they also cause technical problems, both in terms of their stability and in terms of adapting to the on-site conditions and customer requirements. Such a frame, usually prefabricated from metal profiles, has to meet higher structural requirements due to the transport and assembly. In addition, where these frames are installed, folding shutters can often be attached to them.
The forces in daily use when opening and closing as well as in strong winds via the folding shutters on the frames are so great that these frames often turn out to be not stable enough afterwards. There are therefore special requirements both with regard to the metal profiles to be used and with regard to their connection to one another. Even a slightly inadequate static stability, apart from a shortened lifespan, brings with it a whole series of disadvantages, from poorly closing folding shutters to sealing problems in the area of the fastening or in the transition area to the facade. Finally, it should not be forgotten that a window or door frame on the facade should also be visually appealing.
From DE-36 06 332 A1 a cladding element for veneering existing door frames is known. However, this is not suitable for the aforementioned purpose, since it only has an optical function, the stability being achieved by screwing to the old frame underneath. A two-part frame is known from CH-517 887 A. This is also intended for interiors.
The two L-shaped parts can be pushed into each other thanks to a groove parallel to the wall opening, so that they can be retrofitted and adapted to the respective wall thickness. There are no static requirements here, the door fittings must be screwed into the wall below.
The object of the invention is to create a window or door frame which does not have the stability-related disadvantages of the previous prefabricable frame constructions made of metal or plastic and which is easily adaptable to on-site conditions and customer wishes, in particular by the possibility that the Frame can be attached to the facade on the connection profiles.
The window or door frame according to the invention solves the charge that the flange part of the frame profile is angled twice approximately at right angles, the flange part again running in its orientation parallel to the reveal or lintel after the second bend and a groove or an opening is arranged in the area of the first bend in such a way that the angled web forms the groove or opening wall facing away from the frame profile part, into which groove or opening a corresponding shape of the reveal profile is to be engaged, which shape is used there is a flange or web that is shaped or angled approximately at right angles from the reveal profile.
The specified in claim 1, to form the frame with a reveal profile frame profile can be standardized and can be adapted to the local conditions with little effort. The reveal profile must be made to measure in the factory in accordance with the reveal thickness. However, this is so simple that it can be machined quickly and inexpensively
Sheet can be bent. The special design of the frame profile, with a twice angled flange part and a groove perpendicular to the reveal, into which a right-angled shape or bend of the reveal profile is intended to engage, ensures a strong connection. The tensile forces act perpendicular to the groove.
A flange part of the frame profile and the reveal profile, which is provided with a shape, also lie against one another in an L-shaped manner over a longer distance.
The frame profile can also project freely, d. H. without screwing to the facade.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
To further improve the stability, the groove and the angled web on the flange part of the frame profile on the one hand and the angled web of the reveal profile on the other hand, are dimensioned so that the inserted reveal profile with its parallel to the reveal or to Lintel area lies close to the flange part. This ensures a torsion-proof connection of the frame profile and the reveal profile.
According to claim 3, the flange part of the frame profile at its free, d. H. end facing away from the frame-profile part, angled approximately at right angles such that the angled flange end runs parallel to the outer wall of the building. As a result, the frame profile can be placed on an underlying surface behind any existing facade cladding in such a way that water reaching behind this facade cladding is also drained off. Nevertheless, a sensible rear ventilation of the facade cladding is ensured in this area.
According to claim 4, at the flange end of the flange part, an approximately rectangular shape in the direction of the frame-profile part is provided, so that, for example, the rear edge of a grate structure carrying a plate-like facade cladding can be gripped with the angle formed in this way, and thus the frame profile the grate construction can be clamped. This configuration enables a stable connection of the frame profile to the grate construction.
The embodiment according to claim 5 can be supplemented according to claim 5 in that a second groove is formed on the flange end, for example on a corresponding shape, which is parallel to the flange end and into which an L-shaped angle part can be inserted. This angle part is used especially in the lintel area. The angled part protects the outer wall of the building or an insulation layer attached here as well as the rust construction from water damage.
According to claim 6, the frame profile or its part used for framing the window or door opening on the facade is designed as a hollow profile and has internal shapes which serve to increase the static stability and also enable the screwing of a folding shutter fitting.
This frame is suitable for new buildings as well as for the renovation of old buildings. Factory-made prefabrication is extremely simple thanks to the use of standardized profile parts, but high static stability and a long service life are ensured. The frame can also be easily adapted to the corresponding building by simply attaching connection profiles on the facade. Due to the special design of the frame, there is no plumbing work. At the same time, a whole series of problem areas, such as B. the attachment of shutters, effectively defused. In particular when using metal profile parts, inexpensive stove enamelling of the same is easily possible before they are assembled.
This also opens up the interesting possibility of varnishing the various profile parts differently without any significant additional effort, so that, for example, the frame-side frame part or connecting profile part can have a different color than the reveal. This has the advantage that, from a visual point of view, the most diverse wishes of the building owners and architects can be easily fulfilled.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
1 shows a sectional illustration of the frame according to the invention in the region of a window reveal,
2 shows the lintel area of the frame according to FIG. 1,
3 shows an additional variant of the frame according to FIG. 1,
Fig. 4 shows the corner connection of the frame profile parts.
In the present exemplary embodiment of the frame, the edging of a window opening of an outer wall of the building is shown. The most important component of the frame is the frame profile 1, which is used for framing the window opening on the facade. The frame profile 1 is assigned a reveal profile 2, for covering the inner edge of the window opening, d. H. the reveal as well as the lintel.
1 and 2, the building outer wall is provided with a plate-like facade cladding 3, for. B. from the known Etemitplatten, which is attached to a grate construction 4. An insulation layer 6 is attached between this grate and the outer wall 5 of the building. The window frame to be attached from the inside of the building is not shown since it is not essential for the present invention.
The frame profile 1 has a part 7 which is rectangular in cross section and which, in terms of its external shape, largely corresponds to the previous wooden strips to be attached to the facade. Am of the frame profile part 7 lying towards the window opening is over which entire length of the frame profile 1, a flange 8 is formed. The frame profile part 7 and the flange part 8 are approximately at right angles to one another, so that they embrace the edge of the window opening on the facade
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
can. The flange part 8 is thus aligned such that it extends along the window reveal or lintel. A groove 9 is provided in the area where the flange part 8 is bent twice by approximately 90 each. The groove 9 runs approximately perpendicular to the flange part 8.
It is introduced in front of the first bend 10 in such a way that the angled web 11 forms the extension of the groove wall facing away from the frame-profile part 7. After the second bend 12, the flange part 8 again runs in its orientation lying parallel to the window reveal or lintel. The groove 9 serves to receive the reveal profile 2. The reveal profile 2 here has an essentially C-shaped cross section. One free C-web 13 of the reveal profile 2 is intended to engage in the groove 9 of the flange part 8 of the frame-profile part 7. The groove 9 and the angled web 11 on the flange part on the one hand and the C-web 13 of the reveal profile 2 on the other hand are dimensioned such that the inserted reveal profile 2 with its central C-web 14 lies tight against the flange part 8.
The flange part 8 is provided with a corrugation 15 in this contact area, so that additional adhesive that can be applied here grips better.
The flange part 8 is in turn angled by approximately 90 at its free end, according to FIGS. 1 and 2. The angled flange end 16 runs parallel to the outer wall 5 of the building or to the insulation layer 6 mounted thereon. A shape 17 is provided at right angles on the flange end 16.
Thanks to this design, according to FIG. 1, the flange end 16 can engage behind the grate construction 4 until the formation 17 bears against it, so that the frame profile 1 is clamped onto the grate construction 4.
A second groove 18 is formed on the formation 17. This groove 18 is parallel to the flange end 16 or to the outer wall 5 of the building. An L-shaped angle part 19 can be inserted into the groove 18. The angle part 19 is intended for use in the lintel area according to FIG. 2. In this area, the outer wall 5 of the building or the insulation layer 6 and also the grate structure 4 are protected from water damage by the angle part 19. To explain: dirt or moss, the cavity formed in this area by the frame profile 1 can clog, so that the rapid drainage of rainwater is hindered. The angled part 19 covers the insulation layer 6 on the one hand and on the other hand the cavity is enlarged upwards to such an extent that it is higher than the possibility of water drainage over the upper edge of the frame-profile part 7.
The frame-profile part 7 is designed as a hollow profile and has a plurality of formations in its interior. These shapes serve on the one hand to increase the stability of the frame profile part and enable both the possible attachment of the frame profile part 7 by means of screws to the facade and the screwing of a folding shutter fitting 24. On the other hand, the shapes of the corner connection of the frame profiles 1 serve among themselves. For this purpose, screw channels 20 are formed, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the frame profile part 7. As indicated in Fig. 4, this allows miter-cut frame profiles 1 or frame profile parts 7 to be connected to one another.
With emer or also with several screws 21, which are each screwed from one frame profile 1 into the screw channels 20 of the second frame profile 1, there is a very firm corner connection of the two frame profiles 1. Since several in the profile cross section , offset to each other screw channels 20 are available, it is easily possible to screw in screws 21 from both frame profiles 1 without the latter getting into conflict with the screws 21 of the other frame profile 1 which are at right angles thereto. The screw channels 20 are formed in the present example for manufacturing reasons as an approximately C-shaped formations. The ribs running in the longitudinal direction of the screw channels 20 make it easier to screw in the screws 21 by reducing the friction surface.
Nevertheless, the secure hold of the same is guaranteed.
While in FIGS. 1 and 2 the outer wall of the building is provided with a plate-like facade cladding 3, FIG. 3 shows that the same frame can also be used for a building without facade cladding. As shown, an existing frame 22, for example made of wood, can also be left in place and clad. Here, an L-shaped angle profile 23 is additionally provided, with which the free part of the old frame 22 facing away from the window opening is to be covered. The one L-web is intended to lie between the frame profile part 7 and the old frame 22. By moving the angle profile 23, the cladding can be adapted to an old frame 22 of any size. The attachment can be carried out by means of screws which are passed from the outside through the frame profile part 7 and the angle profile 23 through the old frame.
Sealing can be ensured using a conventional sealing compound. In this example, the angled flange end 16 of the flange part 8 according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is not present, since it is disturbing here. For this purpose, it is either conceivable to produce a corresponding profile variant or simply to separate the flange end 16.
Similar to that shown in FIG. 3, a window opening, for example bricked, can be in one
New or old building. In this case, the L-shaped angle profile 23 must be omitted.
The frame according to the invention can therefore be adapted to all possible conditions, whether old or new, whether

with facade cladding or without, adapt appropriately. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, however, the frame is particularly well suited for buildings with facade cladding. It can be firmly anchored in the facade construction and, particularly thanks to the good connection between frame profile 1 and reveal profile 2, has a high degree of static inherent stability. The various sophisticated details of the frame bring great practical benefits.
The reveal profile 2 is preferably dimensioned such that it projects beyond the thickness of the outer wall 5 of the building, including any insulation layer 6 and the facade structure, as a result of which the window reveal is completely covered. Instead of having a C-shaped cross section, the reveal profile 2 can also be L-shaped by omitting the window-side angling. In this case, a separate angle part can also be provided in the window-side area. This angle part can be connected to the reveal profile 2 by a groove connection in the manner already described, wherein the groove can either be formed on the reveal profile 2 itself or on the angle part.
The profile parts of the frame are preferably made of aluminum. While the frame profile 1 can be produced in the factory-made manufacturing technique customary for aluminum profiles, the reveal profile 2 can also be made as a correspondingly thick, bent sheet metal part in the width required in each case, i.e. h Wall thickness, individually or in small series.
It is within the scope of the invention to design the frame differently in detail than in the preceding preferred exemplary embodiment. Similar to what is described here using a window opening, door openings and the like can also be edged.
