received, analyzed and if there is a match, a reconfirmation takes place. The lock is then unlocked mechanically.
The invention aims to provide a lock with a mechanical and electrical locking mechanism, the key of which does not significantly exceed the usual size of a purely mechanical key, and whose electronic locking circuits are particularly secure against re-locking and whose coding is practically undetectable.
This is achieved in that an infrared transmitter diode with an upstream code memory for a first code is provided in the lock rosette on the lock side and an infrared receiver diode is provided in the key chord on the key side, that a code comparison circuit for the first code and at its output is provided on the receiver diode in the key chord the infrared transmitter which can be activated if the code matches, which comprises an infrared transmitter diode with an upstream code memory for a second code and that the infrared receiver comprising an infrared receiver diode with subsequent code comparison of the second code switching the control output is provided in the rosette.
The lock-side transmitter supplies the energy for the key-side code memory, so that the key, which is in itself suitable, is activated if the code transmitted by the lock is recognized as correct in the key. If this is the case, the key sends an internal code to the lock, in which an identity comparison is carried out.
It is expedient if the infrared diodes are each designed as transmitters and receivers and a feedback (acknowledgment) with an acknowledgment code and code comparison is provided for each transmission link. A separate acknowledgment ("shake hands") thus takes place for each of the transmission links. The transmission routes for the lock code and for the key code can be combined into a single transmission route if a time-division multiplex circuit is provided for the transmission of the lock-side first code, for possible acknowledgment and for the return of the key-side second code and for its acknowledgment. A special security of the code against being read out is achieved in that the code memories of the lock and the key are memories which reproduce the memory contents in the synchronizable time cycle.
A locking system, for example for a hotel, is characterized in that a central coding device is provided for recoding the keys that can be plugged into the device and that the coding device is connected, for example via a data bus, to the code memories of the locks belonging to the keys. Recoding a key and lock combination is easily possible at any time, even with individual locks, for example in the private sector, provided the original key with the original code is available. A lock can also respond to two or more codes. It is possible to additionally restrict the release of the second code, for example, to a time interval that can be preset and / or to the one-off blocking, about once a day.
Furthermore, the number of blockings and the time in a monitoring period and also an identification signal, which provides information about the key or keys used, can be stored and, if required, called up via a switchable display.
An embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown in the drawing.
The drawing shows a lock and a key, each with a basic representation of the inner formwork.
A flat key - -3-- with beard --4-- and reide --5-- is shown opposite a lock cylinder --1-- with rosette --2--. Two transceivers in the form of infrared transmitters and receive diodes - 6, 7 and 8, 9-- are arranged in the rosette --2-- and in the row --5-- so that they are when the key is inserted (Beard --4-- and key channel of cylinder-l aligned with each other) in pairs.

received and fed to a comparison circuit --11--. A code memory --10-- is connected to the comparison circuit --11-- and is programmed identically with the code memory --11.
If the comparison circuit --11-- determines that the received code C 1 and the code C1 1 of the memory --12-- match, then a signal is output to an AND gate --13--. A memory --14-- is connected to this. The memory code C2 reaches the transmitter --8-- via the AND gate --13--. This transfers C2 to the diode --9--, which
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a comparison circuit --15-- is also connected.
The comparison circuit is connected to a memory --16--. If the transmitted code C2 matches the code C2 of the memory --16--, then a signal is sent via an AND gate --17-- to an electrical lock, which is shown here as a solenoid for a bolt --18-- that is blocking the locking cylinder. If no match is found in the comparison circuit --15--, an alarm may be triggered after a time delay (signaling device --19--).
An acknowledgment circuit is shown with dashed lines in parallel with the circuit described above. The receipt of the code C1 in the diode --7-- is reported back to the diode --6-- by a code KL of a memory --20--, provided that a code K2 (memory-21- ) was recognized by the comparison circuit --22-- and agreement was found with the code K, the memory --23--. --24-- provided. Circuit --22-- on the aforementioned AND gate, K1 reaches diode --7-- via diode --7--. The recorded code K1 is checked in the comparison circuit --25-- for agreement with the code K. provided in the memory --26--.
If agreement is established

--17 -. Link --17-- through and the lock --18-- is opened.
All memories --10, 12 and 14,16 as well as 21,23 and 20, 26-- are programmed in pairs, whereby the entire memory content is run through in one time cycle. The memories work synchronously. The electronic components available today ensure synchronous operation for about half a year. Each time a key is inserted, it is re-synchronized.
Even the one-time supply of energy from the lock side via the transmitter diode --6-- to the key --3-- is sufficient for the memory in the key box --5-- to keep programming for many years.
In the exemplary embodiment, two transmission links are shown, namely between the diodes --6 and 7-- and between the diodes --8 and 9--. The signal flow can be concentrated on one transmission path if work is carried out simultaneously in different frequency ranges or if time division multiplexing is used. More than two transmission links can also be provided.
