Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a space heater by a liquid or gaseous
Heat transfer medium is heated by electricity or the like, in which at least one plate or the like is provided on the heat-radiating front side, and in which between the plates arranged on the front side or between the plates and the Radiator one or more cavities are present and in which the plates arranged on the front preferably consist of heat-conducting materials.

AT-PS No. 234966 describes a convection heater, in which a guide tube is surrounded by a laterally open outer angle, to which vertical, open top and bottom convection ribs are attached.

The object of the invention is to provide a space heater in which the emission of convection heat is kept as low as possible and a desired mild radiation intensity is generated in the room.

This object is achieved in the space heater of the type mentioned in the present invention in that the cavities present on the front are closed.

In an embodiment of the invention, it is provided that heat-conducting, heat-insulating or heat-storing materials are present in the cavities on the front side. The plates present on the front are advantageously connected to the space heater via insulating layers. The measures listed can be used to generate the desired mild radiation intensity in the room regardless of any high temperatures in the radiator.

It is within the meaning of the invention that no accessible points or convection openings or open channels arise between the individual layers of the plates or the cavities and that the individual layers cannot be separated, opened or the like during use.

The invention is described below using three exemplary embodiments with the aid of the drawings. 1 to 3 show cross sections of three embodiments of a space heater according to the invention.

In Fig. L-A-denotes a conventional radiator with a heating medium-D--. A plate --B-- is provided on the front, through which closed cavities --C-- are formed.

In Fig. 2, an insulating layer --E-- is provided between the radiator --A-- and the closed cavity --C-producing plate --B--.

In Fig. 3, two successive plates B - are provided, so that two cavities --C-- are created, which are closed again.
