  Twist drill with hexagonal shaft.

The present invention relates to a twist drill whose shaft has aecbskantig. is trained.

The drawing represents an exemplary embodiment of the twist drill and means therein: FIG. 1 a. Side view of the drill, FIG. 2 a section according to A-B of FIG. 1. a is the twist drill, the shank b of which is hexagonal. The advantage is that, due to its design, the shaft is fully retained in all chucks with two or three jaws. A slight tightening of the drill chuck is sufficient to hold the drill absolutely firmly in its position. By making the drill not like. can rotate the drill with a cylindrical shaft, both the drill and the jaws and the spindle of the chuck are spared, so that the durability of these parts is greatly increased.

In addition, while the chuck jaws wear out after a short time when using the drill with a cylindrical shank, or the spindle breaks due to excessive strain, when using the twist drill with a hexagonal shank, these parts remain intact, and this also allows the jaws to be protected

Shank can be flattened or rounded instead of sharp.
