   Zur Darstellung von Formaldehydsulfoxylat hat man bisher die sauren Salze der   schuftigen   Säure bezw. letztere selbst in Gegenwart von Formaldehyd (oder neutrale Alkalisulfite in Gegenwart von Formaldehyde, wodurch gleichfalls Formaldehydalkalibisulfite entstehen) der reduzierenden Einwirkung von Zinkstaub mit   oder ohne Zusatz von Mineral-   säuren oder anderen geeigneten Zusätzen unterworfen. 



   Es hat sich nun gezeigt, dass auch das neutrale Zinksulfit und das neutrale Ammoniumsulfit einer   Umsetzung   mit Zinkstaub und Formaldehyd unter Bildung von formaldehyd-
