Free carboxyl groups R and those as a component of R can be esterified in the customary manner, for example by reacting with a corresponding alcohol, advantageously in the presence of an acid such as a mineral acid, e.g. B. sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid, or in the presence of a water-binding agent such as dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, or by reacting with a corresponding diazo compound, e.g. B. a diazoalkane. The esterification can also be carried out by reacting a salt, preferably an alkali salt, of the acid with a reactive esterified alcohol, e.g. B. a halide, such as chloride, of the corresponding alcohol.
Free carboxyl groups can also be converted into anhydridized carboxyl groups, such as halocarbonyl groups, and the acid anhydrides thus obtained, such as acid halides, eg. B. acid chlorides or ketenes are then converted into esters or amides by reaction with an alcohol or with ammonia or a primary or secondary amine, if desired in the presence of acid-binding agents such as organic or inorganic bases. By reacting with an alcohol in an analogous manner, the nitriles obtained can also be converted into the corresponding imino ethers, which can be hydrolyzed in the usual way to give the corresponding esters.
Furthermore, in compounds obtained in which R3 is carboxyl, carbon dioxide can be split off. The elimination of carbon dioxide (decarboxylation) can be carried out in the usual way, for. B. by heating, optionally in the presence of an inert solvent, for. B. of diphenyl ether or quinoline. However, one can also start from compounds obtained in which R3 is an esterified carboxyl group and heat them in the presence of a hydrolysis catalyst, such as an acidic or basic agent, the corresponding free acid or a salt thereof being obtained as an intermediate, which then decarboxylated.
The reactions mentioned can, if appropriate, be carried out simultaneously or one after the other and in any order.
The reactions mentioned are usually carried out in the presence or absence of diluents, condensation and / or catalytic agents, at a reduced, normal or elevated temperature, optionally in a closed vessel.
Depending on the process conditions and starting materials, the end products are obtained in free form or in the form of their acid addition salts, which is also included in the invention. For example, basic, neutral or mixed salts, optionally also hemi-, mono-, sesqui- or polyhydrates thereof, can be obtained. The acid addition salts of the new compounds can be converted into the free compound in a known manner, e.g. B. with basic agents such as alkalis or ion exchangers. On the other hand, the free bases obtained can form salts with organic or inorganic acids. For the preparation of acid addition salts, those acids are used in particular which are suitable for the formation of therapeutically useful salts.
Examples of such acids are: hydrohalic acids, sulfuric acids, phosphoric acids, nitric acid, fumaric acid, aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic carbonic or sulfonic acids, such as formic, acetic, propionic, succinic, glycolic, lactic acids. , Apple, tartaric, citric, ascorbic, maleic or pyruvic acid, benzoic, anthranil, p-hydroxybenzoic, salicylic or emboxylic acid, methanesulphonic, ethanesulphonic, hydroxyethanesulphonic, ethylene sulphonic, halobenzenesulphonic, Toluenesulfonic, cyclohexylaminesulfonic acid or sulfanilic acid.
These or other salts of the new compounds, such as picrates or perchlorates, can also be used to purify the free bases obtained by converting the free bases into salts, separating them off and freeing the bases again from the salts. As a result of the close relationships between the new compounds in free form and in the form of their salts, in the preceding and in the following the free compounds are meaningfully and expediently also the corresponding salts.
The invention also relates to those embodiments of the process in which a reaction component is optionally present in the form of its salts.

as mixtures of racemates and / or as pure geometric isomers or as mixtures of the same (isomer mixtures).
Isomer mixtures obtained can be separated into the two pure geometric isomers in a known manner on the basis of the physico-chemical differences between the components, for example by chromatography on a suitable stationary phase, such as with a complex-forming heavy metal compound, e.g. B. with a silver compound, pretreated silica gel or aluminum oxide, or by forming a heavy metal addition compound, e.g. B. the silver nitrate complex, separation of the same into the addition compounds of the pure isomers, e.g. B. by fractional crystallization, and subsequent release of the pure isomers.
Pure isomers obtained, e.g. B. trans isomers can in the usual way, for. B. photochemically, for example by irradiation with light of a suitable wavelength, advantageously in a suitable solution
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
agent, such as an aliphatic hydrocarbon, or in the presence of a suitable catalyst, into the isomers of opposite configuration, e.g. B. into the cis isomers.
Mixtures of racemates can be separated into the two stereoisomeric (diastereomeric) pure racemates in a known manner on the basis of the physico-chemical differences between the constituents, for example by chromatography and / or fractional crystallization.
Racemates obtained can be obtained by known methods, for example by recrystallization from an optically active solvent, with the aid of microorganisms or by reaction with an optically active acid which forms salts with the racemic compound and separation of the salts obtained in this way, e.g. B. due to their different solubilities, decompose into the diastereomers, from which the antipodes can be released by the action of suitable agents. Optically active acids commonly used are e.g. B. the D- and L-forms of tartaric acid, di-o-toluene tartaric acid, malic acid,
Mandelic acid, camphorsulfonic acid or quinic acid. The more effective L-antipode is advantageously isolated.
For carrying out the reactions according to the invention, it is expedient to use those starting materials which lead to the groups of end materials particularly mentioned at the beginning and especially to the end materials specifically described or emphasized.
The starting materials are known or, if they are new, can be obtained by known methods.

The new compounds can be used as remedies, e.g. B. in the form of pharmaceutical preparations, find use, which they or their salts in mixture with a z. For the formation of the same, substances come into question that do not react with the new compounds, such as. They can also contain other therapeutically valuable substances. The preparations, which can also be used in veterinary medicine, are obtained using customary methods.
The following example explains the invention without, however, restricting it. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example: From 5.0 g (0.02 mol) of p- (2-ethoxycarbonylaminovinyl) acetoxybenzene, after dissolving in 75 ml of abs. Ethanol, adding a solution of 1.34 g (0.02 mol) of sodium ethoxide in 10 ml of abs. Ethanol, heating to 500 for 15 minutes and subsequent evaporation in vacuo to dryness, the crude sodium salt of p- (2-ethoxycarbonylaminovinyl) phenol. This is dissolved in 50 ml of water and the solution is extracted with chloroform after adding 10 ml of 2N hydrochloric acid. The chloroform extract is washed with water, dried over sodium sulfate and filtered. The filtrate is 1-tert with 13 g. Butylamino-2,3- - epoxypropane was added and this solution was heated to boiling under reflux for 18 h.
The solvent and the volatile amine are then distilled off in vacuo and the residue is dissolved in ethyl acetate. This solution is extracted with 30 ml of 1N hydrochloric acid. The acidic extract is made alkaline with soda solution and the precipitated base is extracted with ethyl acetate. After washing with water, drying over sodium sulfate and removing the solvent, the crude 1- [4- (2-ethoxycarbonylaminovinyl) phenoxy] - - 2-hydroxy-3-tert. butylamino propane. After dissolving in acetone and adding N-cyclohexylsulfamic acid, this gives the N-cyclohexylsulfaminate with a melting point of 99 to 1000.
