Die Zugwagenbremse nach vorliegender Erfindung besteht aus einem senkrecht auf die Vorder-oder Hinterräder eines Wagens horizontal vorgelagerten U-Eisen, welches gegen die Räderseite mit zwei langen Schlitzen versehen ist. In den drei Lagern L des U-Eisens ist eine mit zwei entgegengesetzten Gewinden versehene Schraubenspindel'gelagert. Auf jedem der beiden Gewinde sitzt ein als Mutter ausgebildetes Führungsstück F, das mit einem durch den Schlitz des'U-Eisens reichenden Ohr versehen ist. Diese beiden Öhre sind in Verbindung mit je einer beweglichen Zugstange Z, deren andere Enden um einen gemeinsamen Drehpunkt auf einem an der Unterseite der beiden Deichselarme D angebrachten Querstück der Bremsstütze S drehbar sind.
An der Schlitzseite des U-Eisens, das durch eine unterhalb der Deichselarme angeordnete Führung getragen wird, befinden sich die beiden Bremsklötze JC, die mit dem U- Eisen als Wagbalken fest verbunden sind. Die Schraubenspindel wird durch eine an ihrem Ende angebrachte Kurbel in Bewegung gesetzt und bewirkt z. B. beim Rechtsdrehen durch das weite Öffnen der Zugstücke das Andrücken der Bremsklötze an die Wagenräder ; durch Linksdrehen der Kurbel werden die beiden Zugstangen nahezu parallel zur Längsachse des Wagens eingestellt und bewirken dadurch das Entfernen des Wagbalkens mit den Bremsklötzen von den Wagenrädern.
