The invention relates to a C-shaped profiled glass retaining bead for profile frames for windows or doors, one leg of which is directed essentially perpendicular to the plane of the pane, with a sealing strip inserted into a groove, and which rests against the glass pane by means of a profiled spring strip inserted into another groove of this leg supported on the base frame, the other leg of the glass retaining strip engaging in a recess in the base frame.
Such a glass retaining bead is z. B. in Swiss Patent No. 325730 shown. Here, however, the spring strip is designed in such a way that when the pane is subjected to pressure, a force is created which acts on the glass retaining strip and tends to detach the strip from its holder in the frame. This disadvantageous effect is caused in particular by the fact that the spring strip is supported in an oblique direction on the glass retaining strip so that it executes a pivoting movement when it is subjected to pressure.
One could counteract this fact to a certain extent by using strong spring strips. However, these are more expensive and make the assembly of the glazing bead more difficult. In addition, the aforementioned fundamental disadvantage of the known construction could not be eliminated satisfactorily by the aforementioned measure.
The object of the invention is therefore to design the glazing bead of the type discussed so that the pressure forces acting from the pane on the glazing bead are absorbed by the latter alone, with the option of adapting the glazing bead to the not available in the known training the respective existing dimensional conditions are sought.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in an advantageous manner in that the spring strip is supported exclusively on the surface of the base frame facing the frame filling, and that the other leg of the glass retaining strip has, in a manner known per se, a tooth-shaped cross-section which is adjustable in a grid of the Engages recess of the base frame.
This ensures that the glass retaining bead is securely fastened even when, as is often the case in practice, different pressures and from different directions act on the glass pane.
In addition, the glass retaining bead is able to accommodate tolerances in the glass pane or in the glazing rubber, which has a particularly favorable effect with regard to the tightness of the glazing.
According to a further proposal of the invention, the spring strip consists of individual spring tongues. This results in the possibility of adapting the compressive force of the springs to the prevailing circumstances through their number and hardness.
In the drawings, exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in section. 1 shows an embodiment with a rubber seal and FIG. 2 shows an embodiment with a cement seal.
The glass retaining bead - l - has an approximately C-shaped profile, the end of the leg --2-- being shaped like pliers and the sealant --3-- pressing against the glass pane --4--. The necessary support of the glass retaining bead --1-- on the frame --5-- is provided by the other profile leg --6-- of the
EMI1.1
Support the assembled state on the frame --5--. The spring force acts approximately in the direction of the arrow "p", so that the strip - 2 - is locked and at the same time its pressing against the sealant is supported.
The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 only in that the putty-3'-is used there as a sealing means. Here, too, the force "p" acts independently of the nature of the sealant in the sense of locking the glass retaining bead.
The use of the glazing bead described and shown is not limited to windows or
Doors with metal frames, but is also applicable to frames made of other materials, e.g. B. wood and plastic, applicable.
