<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a multipurpose gas valve, in particular for high-performance gas apparatus, with a gas pressure regulator diaphragm valve built into a common housing, a manual shut-off device, and a solenoid valve, and aims to create a multipurpose gas valve which, by using common structural elements, the Functions of a gas pressure regulator, a solenoid valve and a shut-off element combined and, with a flow resistance characteristic of a single valve, is also suitable for fulfilling the tasks of a manually operated shut-off valve, an automatically operated solenoid valve and a pressure regulator.
Gas apparatus, especially high-performance gas apparatus, are provided with various automatic or semi-automatic control and safety devices in addition to the equipment and fittings that are absolutely necessary for their operation.
However, the valve sets designed in this way are on the one hand heavy and take up significant space due to the dimensions of the valves, on the other hand the flow resistances of the individual valves add up as a result of the series connection, so that an unacceptably high flow resistance occurs.
For apparatus with lower power, composed multi-purpose fittings are known which collectively perform part of the required tasks on a common mounting plate for the individual direct-acting elements; However, these fittings cannot be manufactured in the sizes required for apparatus with higher capacities, and their flow resistance corresponds to the sum of the flow resistances of the individual elements.
The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the difficulties enumerated. According to the invention, the object is achieved in such a way that in the path of the main gas flow a hand shut-off device attached to the membrane of the membrane valve provided with a pressure equalization hole is provided, the membrane being connected via a spring to the adjustable part of the hand shut-off device, on which a circuit in the magnetic valve lying electrical contact pair is provided, which interrupts the circuit of the solenoid valve when the hand shut-off device is closed.
Furthermore, a gas through-hole is provided which connects the space above the membrane with the space below the sensor membrane of a pressure regulator, can be closed with the shut-off element of the solenoid valve and continues from here in the direction of the outlet connection. The single shut-off element arranged in the path of the main gas flow can be a poppet valve provided with a guide cone with an elastic sealing surface.
The design of the valve according to the invention offers possibilities for installation in straight and corner designs, and also for screwed pipe connections and bottle pipe connections.
The installation dimensions and the flow resistance of the gas valve according to the invention correspond to the dimensions and the resistance of a single-purpose fitting, e.g. B. a solenoid valve, with similar connection dimensions.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing in longitudinal section.
The shut-off device - l - located on the upper part of the valve presses a valve plate - 2 - onto the valve seat 16 - with the aid of a spring - 3. The shut-off device - l - interrupts the circuit in the closed state by opening an electrical contact (not shown)

gas through the open solenoid valve --8-- and a pressure regulator --9-- in the direction of the outlet nozzle --10-- and as a result, the pressure in the space above the membrane is reduced. For this purpose, there is a space above the membrane --6-- with the space below the sensor membrane-11-of the pressure regulator-9-connecting,
with the shut-off element of the solenoid valve - 8 - closable and from here in the direction of the outlet port further gas passage bore - 15
The membrane --6-- is thus raised under the effect of the difference between the pressures prevailing below and above the same, whereupon the valve disk --2-- opens the way for the gas flow.
Under the effect of the pressure increase on the outlet side, the throttle element - 13 - of the pressure regulator - 9 - rises, whereupon the diaphragm - 6 - and the valve plate - 2 - sink. The valve disc
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
- approaches the valve seat 16 until the pressure drop caused by the valve reaches a level at which the output pressure corresponds to the desired pressure set on the pressure regulator.
Since the valve plate - 2 - acts as a shut-off and throttle element in the way of the main gas flow, its resistance forms the total resistance of the valve, which can be neglected in the open state of the valve even with larger amounts of gas flowing through.
