The invention relates to a screw connection with a deformable, longitudinally slotted sealing insert, preferably made of plastic, for gas-tight and watertight connection of rigid and flexible pipes and for inserting electrical cables, in which the sealing insert is pressed radially around the pipe or cable that passes through by screwing a union nut.
The purpose of this screw connection is that it can be used both for connecting pipelines and for inserting electrical cables and that the deformable sealing insert of different diameters reliably clamps and seals.
It is known to use screw connections with inserts made of deformable material for sealing or made of metal for strain relief. In both cases, the longitudinal slots of the inserts used for clamping are simply attached smoothly and radially to the center of the object to be clamped. This means that the slots never join one another in a sealing manner, even with the strongest clamping, so that the insert of a separate seal is required. So is z. B. from the French Patent specification No. 897,037 a screw connection has become known in which a sleeve-shaped body has four cross-slots that run radially.
The invention has the task of eliminating these disadvantages and at the same time making the screw connection usable for the connection of pipelines and for the introduction of electrical cables.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the sealing insert is provided on its end face with longitudinal slots which overlap each other in the circumferential direction and which are arranged tangentially to the inner bore of the sealing insert and in that the outlet bore of the union nut is conically narrowed so that the segments of the Sealing insert are pressed onto one another in a fan-like manner through the conical narrowing of the union nut under the occurring screw pressure. For the introduction of electrical cables, the sealing insert can be provided with an elongated insulating attachment which projects completely or partially into the bore of the connection thread and thus insulates the inner wall of the bore.
Another feature of the invention is that the sealing insert is provided on the side opposite the end face with a step or a guide cone, which are guided in a recess in the threaded nipple and thus prevent the sealing insert from tilting.
In the drawings, the invention is shown by way of example; 1 shows the screw connection with a pipe recess and connected pipe in partial section, FIG. 2 the sealing insert in a view with tangential slots, FIG. 3 the sealing insert in a side view and partial section with offset and dashed lines with an insulating extension, FIG Partial cut with guide cone.
The screw connection consists of the threaded nipple --1-- (Fig. 1) with the connecting thread - 2-- and the union nut --3--. An O-ring seal - 4 - is mounted in a groove at the end of the thread of the connection thread - 2 -. The recess --7-- in the threaded connector --5-- is used to accommodate the offset - 8-- (Fig. 3) or the guide cone - 8a-- (Fig. 4) of the sealing insert - 9--. To connect pipelines, the extension - V--

tangentially lying slots - 9d - attached. For the introduction of electrical cables, the sealing insert - 9 - can be provided in a known manner with an extended insulating attachment - 8b - (FIG. 3).
The screw connection works as follows:
After screwing in the threaded nipple-l-, the union nut --3 - and the sealing insert - 9 - are pushed over the pipe to be connected - 10 - or a cable to be inserted.
EMI1.2
is clamped sealingly. At the same time, the screw pressure deforms the seal insert --9 - which fills all the cavities in the Preys and seal area.
When installing the cable, the cable entry and clamping are carried out in the same way, only the cable is fed through the screw connection.
For the connection of flexible pipelines, the same are provided with stiffening tubes in a known manner at their connection ends to be inserted into the screw connection.
The advantages achieved by the invention are, in particular, that the overlapping tangential longitudinal slots achieve a good, secure seal with the greatest possible clamping effect, even with different diameters of the media to be connected and introduced.
