The parent patent No. 287637 relates to a process for dyeing fiber material using water-soluble or water-dispersible dyes by means of an emulsion of organic solvent and water containing the dyes, which is characterized in that a dye liquor is made of a) water-immiscible solvents, b) aqueous solutions or dispersions of dyestuffs which are sparingly or insoluble in the solvents, and c) surface-active dispersants are used, the aqueous dyestuff solutions or dispersions being dispersed in the organic solutions and the water content of the dye liquor no longer being used than 10% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 3% by weight.
The invention relates to a particular embodiment of the method of the parent patent; this consists in dyeing with the dye emulsions under a pressure which, at the dyeing temperature used, is at least 250/0, preferably at least 7clé. is higher than the vapor pressure of the water at this dyeing temperature, and that the formation of condensate in the interior of the dyeing machines or apparatus is avoided during dyeing.
For the process of the parent patent to be successful, it is crucial that the dye emulsions are stable under the dyeing conditions. By applying a certain excess pressure and preventing the formation of condensate in the interior of the dyeing machine and apparatus, the required stability of the dyeing emulsions is achieved.
The pressure to be used according to the invention, the vapor pressure of the water at the dyeing temperature used by at least 250/0, preferably by at least 70%, exceeding pressure is z. B. generated in such a way that dyeing in closed dyeing machines or apparatuses, in which, when heated to the desired dyeing temperature of 90 to 1250C, a pressure equal to the partial pressure of the water and the solvent at this temperature is set. Or it is in the interior of the dyeing machines or - apparatus by means of a foreign gas, z. B. compressed air or nitrogen, a static overpressure generated in the inventive level.
The formation of condensation in the interior of the dyeing machines and apparatus is z. B. achieved by isothermal heating of the interior of the dyeing machines and apparatus or by rotating movement of the dyeing machine and / or the material to be dyed and / or by circulating the dye emulsions or by continued rinsing or spraying of the inner walls of the dyeing machines and apparatus with the dye emulsions.
For dyeing with aqueous baths, dyeing machines are already known which perform strong rotational movements, e.g. B. drum dyeing machines that cause a vigorous movement of the material to be dyed and a good movement of the liquor, z. B. reels and paddles. However, these known dyeing machines cannot be used for dyeing with dye emulsions, since in them the emulsions are not stable under the dyeing conditions, but rather break after a short time. This is due to the fact that the dyeing machines and devices are either not isothermally heatable systems (reel, pressure reel, paddle, pressure paddle) or can be heated isothermally, but then do not allow the necessary movement of goods (e.g. tree dyeing devices), or indeed one Provide isothermal heating of the inner walls through a good movement of liquor and dyed goods (e.g.
Drum dyeing machines), which, however, do not allow generating sufficient overpressure.
The parts given in the following examples are parts by weight.
Example 1: 100 parts of ready-made knitted pieces made of polyacrylonitrile are in a newly developed, isothermally heatable drum pressure dyeing machine with an emulsion consisting of

Dyed in such a way that the entire interior of the apparatus is completely filled with the dye emulsion, then the apparatus is closed and heated to 1000 ° C. within 30 minutes.
During the heating process, a pressure of 1.8 atm is set via the pressure relief valve. It is dyed for 1 h at 1000C under this pressure and with periodic changes in the direction of the liquor circulation. After cooling and venting the apparatus and draining the well drawn emulsion, the wound body is rinsed with fresh, 650C warm perchlorethylene and dried. A dyeing with good fastness properties is obtained.
If you dye with the same emulsion under pressure, but in a normally filled apparatus, the result is an uneven dyeing that is 500/0 weaker.

It is then cooled, the dyestuff emulsion is removed from the textile material, rinsed with fresh perchlorethylene and dried with hot air. A uniform red color is obtained.
