<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a closure arrangement with a closure cap for bottles or similar.
Containers made of glass, plastic or metal. Such caps are z. B. in the German Auslegeschrift 1033534, the French. U.S. Patents No. 1,145,270 and No. 1,348,782, and U.S. Patents No. 3, 189, 072 and No. 3, 297, 187.
The invention relates in particular to a closure arrangement on bottles or similar. Containers with a neck part which is surrounded at the mouth by an edge bead, with an inner cap consisting of elastically flexible plastic being clamped on the edge bead, which inner cap partially encloses the bead and forms the carrier of an outer cap which has an annular jacket part which is attached to its inside has an internal thread which cooperates with a corresponding external thread formed on the outside of the inner cap and enables the outer cap to be screwed onto the inner cap.
The invention aims in particular to improve the closure cap of the closure arrangement described above, especially in such a way that the closure cap is also used for the mechanical closure of bottles or similar. Containers is suitable and forms a reliable closure that can be easily opened by hand as often as desired without mechanical aids and quickly and safely closed again.
According to the invention, the intended purpose is achieved in that, in such a closure arrangement, the inner cap is extended at its lower end by an annular flange which extends obliquely outward and downward from its connection to the inner cap resting on the edge bead of the container neck part and at its The free lower edge has an outer diameter that is greater than the largest inner diameter at the open end of the outer cap, so that the annular flange is formed by several axial channels, grooves or the like.
is weakened, in order to facilitate a uniform radial compression of the ring flange when pressing the outer cap over the ring flange downwards, that the outer thread of the inner cap is formed on the outside of the ring flange of the inner cap and this outer thread and the one interacting with it on the inside of the shell part The inner thread formed on the outer cap is designed as an asymmetrical thread known per se, which enables the outer cap to be pushed axially onto the elastically flexible annular flange of the inner cap to the lower end position, but the outer cap can be pulled off axially due to the locking effect of the resilient inside thread of the outer cap locked external thread of the annular flange of the inner cap is prevented and the outer cap can only be removed by unscrewing it,
that on the bead surrounding the mouth of the neck part of the bottle or the like, a projection is provided at at least one point on its outer surface, which cooperates with the part of the inner cap that encompasses the bead and keeps the inner cap locked against rotation when the outer cap is unscrewed, and that the inner cap has an axial opening which, when the outer cap is in place, is closed by an axial, essentially cylindrical plug provided on its inner side.
Further features of the invention emerge from the following description and the claims.
In the description, some exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. 1 shows a preferred embodiment of the closure arrangement according to the invention for a bottle in axial section, FIG. 2 shows a closure arrangement particularly suitable for tubes, partly in axial section and in a view, FIG. 3 relates to a modified embodiment of the closure cap according to the invention, partly in axial section, FIGS. 4 and 5 show the inner cap and the complete closure in another embodiment in axial sections, and FIG. 6 shows an embodiment of an inner cap provided with a predetermined breaking pin.
Fig. 1 shows in axial section the end part of a bottle neck, the mouth of which has a bead 11 on the outside. On this bead - 11 - is a spring lock made of elastically flexible plastic
EMI1.1
corresponding threads of a thread - 17 - on the outside of the annular flange -13. The internal thread -16- of the outer cap and the external thread -17- of the annular flange of the inner cap are, as the drawings show, asymmetrical, as is known from bottle or container caps that are placed directly on the neck of a bottle or a container are screwed on.
The ring flange - 13 - with the external thread --17 - has on its free lower edge, when the external cap is removed, an external diameter which is larger than the largest internal diameter of the external cap at its open end. When the outer cap --14-- is pressed down over the annular flange --13--, the annular flange is compressed radially. In order to make this radial compression possible, the annular flange is weakened by the arrangement of several axial grooves or cutouts-18-which facilitate an elastic radial compression of the annular flange.
Since the threads - 16 and 17 - are asymmetrical, the upper thread flanks wide and strongly sloping downward in cross section and the lower thread flanks narrow and little or in cross section
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
are not inclined downwards at all, there is no significant resistance to axial sliding of the outer cap over the annular flange, because the wide thread flanks of the inner thread of the outer cap displace the annular flange slightly radially inward, until after each passage of the ridge of the inner thread of the outer cap at the ridge of the external thread of the annular flange of the inner cap, the annular flange elastically expands outwards again until its outer thread engages again in the inner thread of the outer cap, but an axial pulling off of the outer cap from the inner cap is prevented because the narrow,
Lock the thread flanks that are radially only slightly or not at all inclined against the axis of the thread against axial pulling off. The outer cap --14-- can then only be removed from the inner cap in the usual way by unscrewing it. The bottle or other container can preferably be closed again by pressing the outer cap --14-- downwards, so that it can be closed quickly. The movement processes are very similar to those when a cork is pressed into a bottle neck.
As can be seen in FIG. 1, the bead 11 has at least one point a small projection 19 which engages with the closure part formed by the inner cap. The projection -19-, which in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 is provided on the upper edge of the bead -11-, interacts with the inner cap -12- and prevents relative rotation of the inner cap when the outer cap is unscrewed to the bead The projection or the projections for the rotationally fixed locking of the inner cap can of course be formed at any point on the bead - 11 -.
If the bottle or other container is made of glass or a material that is harder than the material of the inner cap, the projection is preferably designed with a pointed end, so that by engaging the material of the inner cap it forms a firm lock of the inner cap against twisting can. It is obviously easy to press the inner cap --12-- mechanically and reliably tightly around the bead - 11 -, the inner cap being held on the bead by grasping it around it and locked against rotation by the locking projection --19--.
EMI2.1
of the ring flange into the thread of the outer cap ensures a sufficiently strong braking effect against undesired, accidental unscrewing or loosening of the outer cap.
In order to ensure a tight seal when the outer cap is in place, the part of the inner cap that is in contact with the end face of the bead is extended by an essentially axial neck extension - 20 - whose free end part is at a distance from the inside of the neck Bottle protrudes into the neck part

Bottle to facilitate.
When the outer cap is in place, an extremely good seal is achieved in that the outer cap bends the annular flange of the inner cap downwards and compresses the inner cap more tightly and presses it closer to the bead. In addition, the plug - 21 - is pressed down into the base of the neck - -20 -, which is then slightly expanded.
In Fig. 2, the neck part - 10 - of a tube - 25 - or a similar container is shown, which on
EMI2.3
axial withdrawal is locked and can only be removed by unscrewing. The ring flange - 13 - has axial groove cutouts - 18 - on its lower part, which facilitate the radial compression of the ring flange - 13 - by the casing part - 15 - of the outer cap - 14.
The inner cap - 12 - has at the top a part - 24 - which tapers conically towards the outlet opening, and the outer cap - 14 - has a conical end part which has a plug on the inside of its end wall
EMI2.4
--14-- the opening - 24-- of the inner cap is closed.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the inner cap --12 - is on the bead - 11 - of the

encompassing part and a ring - 12 '- protruding into the neck part - 10 - of the inner cap. The inner cap --12-- carries at the bottom the annular flange --13-- provided with the grooves (not shown in the drawing) with the asymmetrical external thread --17-- and at the top a step-by-step extension - 26 - with an opening - 27 -. A drip catcher ring 28 can be arranged concentrically around the extension 26.
The outer cap --14-- has a jacket wall part - 15--, on

conically upwardly tapering upper end part, which carries a plug --21-- on the inside of its end wall, which tightly closes the opening --27-- of the attachment --26-- of the inner cap --12-- when the outer cap is put on.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the inner cap 12 of the closure cap according to the invention, clamped on the bead of the neck part of a bottle-like or similar container due to its inherent elasticity, is shown in axial section in the left half of FIG. 4 in axial section without the neck part the beaded edge, and in FIG. 5 the closure with the outer cap fully fitted is shown in axial section.
In Fig. 4 it can be seen that the inner cap - 12 - the bead of the container neck part with a cylindrical part - 29 - and with a conically tapered part --30-- adjoining the part - 29 - at the top. to which a conically tapered outlet connection - 24-, which has an opening at its end, and below the ring flange - 13 - provided with grooves - 18 - connects with the asymmetrical external thread - 17 - is provided and in the unstressed state extends obliquely outwards and downwards with a relatively large cone opening angle.
In Fig. 4, the groove cutouts - 18 - of the annular flange - 13 - are shown in a view of its inside without being compressed by the outer cap.
In FIG. 5, the inner cap according to FIG. 4 is shown with the outer cap -14- fully fitted. The
EMI3.2
is achieved.
Fig. 6 shows an inner cap - 12--, on which the one with the asymmetrical external thread --17--

--33-- or- occurs and when the outer cap is unscrewed for the first time --14-- it is broken off or sheared off by the side edge of this cutout - 36 - and thereby indicates that the container has already been opened after the original filling was introduced .
The projection - 19 - shown in FIG. 1 on the neck part of the container is not shown in FIGS. 2 to 5.
To anchor the inner cap --12-- against twisting, the edge of the bottle or container neck --10-- can also be provided with teeth that penetrate the material of the inner cap or can engage in recesses in the inner cap.
The outer cap -14- is expediently made of a harder material than the inner cap-12.
Finally, it can be mentioned that the closure arrangement designed according to the invention also differs from a safety closure cap described in US Pat. No. 3, 341, 044 in terms of its structure and its handling. This known closure cap consists of an inner sleeve that can be pushed onto the end of a bottle neck, a cap part that can be screwed on and a sleeve jacket which is normally freely rotatable on the cap part and which, after axial compression of a compression spring clamped between the cap part and the sleeve jacket, can be coupled to the cap part for rotation, to unscrew the cap part from the inner sleeve. After unscrewing the cap part, it must be pulled off the mouth of the bottle neck in order to be able to pour out the contents.
A display device which shows that the closure has already been opened cannot be provided with this closure arrangement.
