The invention relates to a device for arranging and changing intermediate vessels over the mold of a metal continuous casting plant with the aid of a lifting and rotating table.
For the continuous casting of metals, industrial plants are known which have a liftable turntable on which two intermediate vessels can be placed, one of which is arranged above the mold during the casting process. In these systems, the vessels are brought and placed on the lifting and turntable during the set-up period by means of a pouring crane.
The use of pouring cranes to change the vessels has proven to be uneconomical for at least two reasons. In particular, the vessels cannot be exchanged during the casting process and, in addition, if both vessels on the lifting and rotating table fail, the
Casting process can be set.
The object of the invention is to eliminate these disadvantages and to provide an improved device of the type outlined at the beginning, in which the use of pouring cranes of the conventional type can be dispensed with.
This goal can be achieved with a device of the structure outlined above, in which each
Intermediate vessel on one side has a suspension device, for example a hook, and on the table
Devices are provided which hold the intermediate vessels overhung on these suspension devices.
A transport device is provided for conveying the intermediate vessels to and from the lifting and turntable, the removal of the intermediate vessels from the transport device and placing on them in the casting zone with the aid of the lifting and turntable known per se.
Advantageously, a container can be set up under the reserve vessel standing on the transport device, which container is conveyed together with the reserve vessel and receives the slag that is drained from the reserve vessel emptied of the metal.
The advantage of the invention is that an essentially continuous pouring process is ensured without a pouring crane being necessary to change the vessels.
The omission of the casting crane has the further advantage of a significant reduction in the overall height of the entire system. This reduces the construction costs when building a new continuous casting hall and, if the installation of the system is planned in an existing hall, can be of decisive importance for the feasibility.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment which is illustrated in the drawing. In the drawing, the turntable is shown in a front view with two intermediate vessels, one of which is in use while the other is available as a reserve.
The device has a lifting and rotating table --1-- on the casting platform, which is intended to hold two intermediate vessels - 2 and 3 - and is supported by a crossbeam --4-- and a lifting column -5-- is formed, wherein the cross member - 4 - can be pivoted around the lifting column - 5 -.
Each of the intermediate vessels-2 and 3 - has a hook -6- on one side, on which the vessels are held in a floating position with the aid of devices -7- which are mounted on the cross member-4- and one the shape of the cavity in the unilaterally attached hook -6- have the corresponding projection.
In order to prevent the intermediate vessels - 2 and 3 - hanging on the devices - 7 - from tipping over, the lower part of the vessels has stops-8- which are connected to the stops - 9- attached to the cross member --4- - interact. Instead of the hook - 6 - any other suspension device can be provided, the shape of which must then be adapted accordingly to the device --7-- shown here on the turntable.
The pouring openings --10-- in the bottoms of the intermediate vessels - 2 and 3 - are closed with stoppers --11--, which are moved vertically with the help of a lever -12-- which is placed on one of the stoppers-- 1 - supporting boom - 13 - acts.
One of the vessels-2-is in the working position and is held by the table - l-above the mold - 14 - of the system. On the side of the reserve position, a track system is provided on the table - l - for transporting the vessels-2 or 3-from the table-l - to the zone where they are served (not shown) and back, on which a carriage, its axis with --15- is designated, the reserve vessel - 3-- supplies and removes. Instead of the track and rail vehicle, another known transport device can also be provided, e.g. B. a roller table.
Under the reserve vessel - 3 - there is a container --16 - for receiving the slag, which is drained from the used vessel.
While the plant is working, the metal is in the mold --14-- from the working

--2-- cast, lifting and rotary table --1--.
If it becomes necessary to change the working intermediate vessel - 2 -, the cross member - 4- relative to the column-5 - together with the vessel - 2 - is raised until the free device-7 is in the hook - 6 - of the reserve intermediate vessel engages, with the vessel --3-- flying on the hook

Conveys the receptacle - 2 - and the container --16 - to the service area, where the receptacle and the container are exchanged for new ones. Then a new intermediate vessel is fed to the lifting and rotating table - l -. The process is then repeated.
The invention makes it possible to change the used vessels quickly without the use of manual labor, and thus gives the possibility to carry out the pouring without significant interruption by changing intermediate vessels.
