   Bei den bisher für den Betrieb von dampfhydraulischen Arbeitsmaschinen bekannten   Treibapparaten   wird die Dampfkolbenstango direkt als Pressplunger benutzt, wobei die Dampfkolbenstange auf Druck beansprucht wird. Die Folge hievon   ist, dass   die Stange sich bei ihrer grossen Länge durchbiegt. In diesem durchgebogenen Zustande wird nun die Kolbenstange bzw. der Pressplunger durch die Stopfbüchse hindurchgedrückt ; dies hat einen einseitigen Verschleiss der   Stopfbüchse   zur Folge, welcher es erschwert, die Stopfbuchsen dicht zu halten. Dieser   Übelstand   wird gemäss vorliegender Erfindung dadurch beseitigt, dass man die Dampf-und Presskolbenstange auf Zug beansprucht.
