Fig. 1 zeigt die Vorrichtung im Schnitt.

Device for the extraction of light materials
The invention is concerned with a device for the extraction of light materials which occur in large-scale separation plants with a more or less large amount of water, whereby the proportion of water suddenly accumulating in the system in addition to the light material can be considerably large.
This is primarily the case at transshipment points for mineral oils or the like, where the lightweight material is delivered or delivered by means of watercraft. These lightweight materials are conveyed from the ship to the tank or vice versa via hoses or pipes. These pipes are od with gate valves. Fittings both on the pump, which moves the medium and is usually arranged on the deck of the ship, as well as on the tank are opened or closed, so that the pipe or hose line is filled with light material when the shut-off devices are closed, which after uncoupling the pipeline via a Discharge point is fed to the separation system.
For example, in the event of heavy rain or during cleaning or washing work, a large amount of water suddenly enters the separation system, the water level of which rises immediately to such an extent that water instead of light material is sucked in via the fixed light material suction pipe.
In order to eliminate this disadvantage, it is proposed according to the invention that a fixed light material suction pipe opens into an open-topped, preferably cylindrical container, which is carried by a floating body attached to its upper edge and can be tared with weights arranged centrally on the floor. A perforated plate, sieve or the like is advantageously arranged as a stop at a short distance from the bottom of the container. To prevent any foreign parts from sticking to the end of the suction pipe, it is provided with recesses.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown schematically. Fig. 1 shows the device in section.
On the bottom of the container, which is closed at the bottom - l - there is a mounting option for weights --2-- which are attached for balancing.

The like suction pipe --6-- applies as a stop. The container-l-itself floats by means of the float -7- attached to the upper end in such a way that the oil separated from the water

even if the water level suddenly rises significantly, only the oil above the water surface is fed.
In addition, special precautions have been taken to ensure that at the highest possible water level or
Stop of the suction tube end on the perforated plate --3-- the pump is switched off.
