Container for the operating fluid of a lifting unit for hydraulically operated hand pallet trucks
The invention relates to a container for the operating fluid of a lifting unit for hydraulically operated hand pallet trucks, with a liquid-tight housing to which the fluid-carrying channels of the lifting unit are connected.
As experience has shown, the majority of containers of this type currently available on the market have the disadvantage that air penetrates into the interior of the container during operation, for example when the lifting unit is inclined. Because of the constant change in the amount of liquid in the container, there is always a negative pressure inside the container and thus the risk of air being sucked in. However, such air inclusions are known to be very harmful to a hydraulic system.
The invention overcomes this disadvantage in that an expandable, gas-tight insert is arranged inside the said housing, which surrounds a gas-filled space that is delimited from the liquid filling of the housing.
In a preferred embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, the interior of the insert mentioned is in connection with the free atmosphere. However, the said insert can also be filled with a gas and completely closed in itself.
This effectively prevents the formation of air pockets and their unpleasant consequences.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is illustrated in the drawings. It shows: FIG. 1 a simplified side view of a fork lift truck and FIG. 2 a vertical section through a container according to the invention.
The pallet truck shown in Fig. 1 with the omission of insignificant details has a chassis designated in its entirety by -l, which is supported on the one hand on rollers-2, on the other hand via a bearing head-3-on a lifting unit-4-. The lifting unit --4- rests on a support structure connected to the front wheels -5- and carries on its front in a
Fork the steering drawbar 6-.
The rearmost section of the lifting unit -l-facing the chassis -l-is designed as a container -7-. This container has a housing -8--, which is preferably worked out of one piece with the entire lifting unit -4-- and to which the fluid-carrying channels of the lifting unit are connected. The connections are not essential in the present context and are not shown for the sake of simplicity. The upper, horizontal wall of the housing - has a vertical bore into which a screw sleeve provided with a central through bore --9-- is screwed.
The lies on the wall of said through hole

-10-- one- has a hole --15-- through which the room --13-- is in constant contact with the free atmosphere.
If a negative pressure arises in the hydraulic system during operation, the insert expands automatically under the influence of atmospheric pressure and compensates for the amount of liquid that has flowed away, so that a vacuum can form in the room --13k - and therefore no air is sucked in from the outside.
As soon as more liquid is supplied to the housing --8--, the insert-11- is compressed, whereby the air contained in it escapes through the opening --9--. In this state, the insert assumes approximately the form shown in phantom in FIG. 2, but expands again automatically and extremely promptly when liquid is withdrawn.
The insert-11- is made of a stretchable material and, in a preferred embodiment, is made of synthetic rubber. The cap 14 is preferably made of a plastic, e.g. B. polyethylene made.
In principle, it would of course also be possible to completely seal the cap --14 - i.e. H. without drilling --9-- and giving the insert --11- a certain gas filling from the start.
