Kurbelwelle.

Crankshaft.
The subject matter of the present invention relates to a crankshaft, particularly intended for locomotives, and aims to ensure greater flexibility of the shaft and thus to prevent the breakages that frequently occur with a rigid extension.
Furthermore, with the present Kurboiwello, the balancing of the weight of the crank pin and simpler and therefore cheaper production of the shaft should be achieved.
In the drawing, the crankshaft is in front or respectively. Side view shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
According to the present invention, the crankshaft consists of two parts which are detachably connected to one another in the middle between the two pins B.
For this purpose, an arm on part of the crankshaft is shaped in such a way that both together form a fork. The crank pins B are at a corresponding angle (appropriately 90 (offset from one another and arranged close to one another. Each of the two arms has a corresponding extension C, which extensions are releasably connected to one another by means of bolts D or the like. This type of connection is therefore also advantageous, because the pieces C form a counterweight of the pin B, whereby a balancing of the crankshaft is possible.
In the event of an accident, it is not the crank, but the bolts that break, and when repairs are made, one half can always be repaired alone, while the other half can be used to maintain operation.
