Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Process for the production of an easily flammable and water-soluble paper based on fiber fleece
The invention relates to a further embodiment of the method according to parent patent no. 241966.
There, a process is claimed for producing a writable and printable paper which disintegrates into its constituent parts within a very short time in water by adding fillers and water-soluble binders of the usual type to the paper base material and subsequent drying. It is characterized in that about 40-200 parts of binder and an equally large amount of fillers are added per 100 parts of fibers, and after drying and rewetting to a moisture content of about 3 to 15% at a temperature between 50 and 1750C is calendered.
In a further embodiment of this process according to the parent patent, oxygen-releasing substances such as nitrates, chlorates, perborates and nitrocellulose are now added to the paper base material.
Such a paper still disintegrates on contact with water. It can also be destroyed by bringing it into contact with a flame. The oxygen-releasing substance promotes combustion to such an extent that the fire cannot be suppressed even in an oxygen-free atmosphere.
The burning of the paper can be prevented with water, but in this case the paper disintegrates again into its components. Such a paper is particularly suitable for military purposes.
It is known from various publications to add oxygen-releasing substances to a conventional paper base material in order to promote the flammability of the papers. However, such papers do not disintegrate on contact with water, so that they are less suitable for military purposes.
