EMI2.1

EMI2.1
Ashes fall cold air into the upper part of the loading area 2.
For the regular transport of the fuel onto the grate, a correspondingly heavy flap 18 (Fig. 1) is arranged in the loading space, which, by virtue of its own weight, rests against the material slipping down. If the flap is replaced by an impeller 18, as illustrated in FIG. 2, this can be operated from the outside.
Water or steam can be supplied through the pipe 19. The fly ash is caught in an ash pan 20 that is separate from the ash trap 17.
With this device on grate firing, one is able to burn inferior fuel, even coal dust, completely smokeless after combustion has been initiated, which also results in a more favorable utilization of the fuel and a higher efficiency of the system. If the air inlet is blocked or the outflow is throttled, the fuel will burn very slowly, which creates the possibility of using such a furnace as a long-life furnace without significant expenditure of fuel, for which it is already suitable by feeding the fuel through a shaft.
