Process for separating solid or liquid bodies from gases, vapors or liquids.

The present invention aims at the separation of bodies from gases, vapors or liquids in the simplest possible way without causing any resistance.

It is known that several systems arranged one behind the other are steam or gas mixtures
 EMI1.1
or radially arranged, curved deflection surfaces b (Fig. 4), which divide the entire cross section of the housing c into a corresponding number of parallel or concentric strips of small width. As indicated in FIG. 1, each individual deflecting surface is curved in such a way that the mixture flowing through it during passage
 EMI1.2
amount a centrifugal force is generated, which forces the specifically heavier parts outwards to the concave sides of the deflection surfaces.

The liquid bodies excreted in this way adhere as a result of the adhesion
 EMI1.3
The currents passing past are driven further in its direction until they reach an obstacle in the form of a small channel a (Figs. 1, 3 and 4) in which
 EMI1.4
of the surfaces and gutters flow downwards, where they can be collected and removed from the apparatus through the opening cl.

When separating solid bodies from gases, it depends on the type and surface properties whether the discharge can also be carried out in the same way. If this is not the case, the separation must take place with the aid of liquid, as in FIGS. 7 and 8, with pipe systems e with holes f also being used, which
 EMI1.5
a better separation of the solid constituents takes place and, moreover, the separated parts are transported by the sprinkling liquid into the channels a and from there down, from where they can be removed analogously to FIGS.

Instead of sprinkling through pipe systems, the arrangement indicated in FIGS. 5 and 6 can also be made: In the housing c there is a wool driven by an externally attached pulley g or the like, which is tightly but rotatably mounted in the housing wall and with which the individual deflection surface systems are firmly connected by arms.

The individual deflecting surfaces are ring-shaped, arranged concentrically to one another and immerse in the lower part of the liquid in the housing. The gas stream to be cleaned enters the apparatus at i, flows through the individual systems one after the other and gives its solid components to the deflecting surfaces that are moist due to the rotation
 EMI1.6
the individual systems arranged scrapers k are removed from the surfaces. With this arrangement, the grooves can be removed a). The gas leaves after flowing through

Apparatus, while the liquid freed from the solids leaves the apparatus below at t.

In all cases, the number of systems arranged one behind the other depends on the difficulty of the separation.
