Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Method for fastening the steel core in hoof hollows.
It is known to increase the resistance projection of Hufstollon without increasing the overall brittleness by inserting a cold steel grain of the appropriate length into a bore of the same, so that the less tread area, the harder core, always forms the actual tread area, and consequently this also with before wrought iron wear of the stud still offers effective resistance.
The subject matter of the present case is an ancestor for the attachment of the

Rapid cooling of the whole, whereby a secure fit of the steel core is achieved while maintaining its hardness.
As the drawing shows, in the tunnel 1, which is usually made of wrought iron, a hole tunnel 1 is made of a corresponding depth. The tunnel is then heated and a cold steel core 3 of the appropriate length is strictly fitted into the hole.
The whole thing is then quickly cooled, whereby a secure connection between the cleat and the core is established while maintaining the hardness of the latter.
