Straightening machine for straightening drill pipes
EMI1.1

same pipe dimension must be straightened.
Instead of a hydraulic one, a pneumatic working and movement system could also be provided.
There is a pressure relief valve in this system, which is adjustable and, depending on the cross-sectional size and shape of the pipe, allows the maximum pressure that can be achieved in the system to be set.
The machine is operated as follows:
After it has been pulled to the desired location as a trailer and detached from the traction vehicle there, the feet 23 and 24 are folded down and adjusted to the correct height so that the entire machine is jacked up firmly. The rods 21 and 22 of the
Extend the boom and the corresponding supports 25 adjusted with respect to their height. Now that will
The pump set is set in motion and the roller pairs 26 are raised. The pipe 30 to be straightened is placed on the pairs of rollers 26 and rotated by hand until it is clear at which point the pipe is crooked and therefore has to be straightened. The roller pairs 26 are then lowered so that the tube 30 comes to rest on the rollers 16.
The pipe 30 is now shifted until the point to be straightened lies under the straightening punch 13. Corresponding to the diameter of the pipe, the spindle 12 and with it the straightening punch 13 attached to it have been lowered into the region of the pipe 30 with the aid of the adjusting wheel 15. The tube 30 is held in its position in which the straightening die 13 is to act on the tube, and the pistons in the cylinders 9 and 10 are acted upon by means of a lever. The pistons move downwards and take the yoke 11 connected to the piston rods with them, as well as the alignment punch 13 via the threaded rod 12. This comes to rest on the pipe 30 according to FIG. 2. The pressure in the hydraulic system rises in accordance with the set regulating valve; the straightening punch 13 presses on the pipe 30 to be straightened and bends it accordingly.
By moving the control lever, the yoke i1 moves up again together with the straightening punch 13 and, provided that the straightening has been carried out correctly, the previous kink or bulge has disappeared at this point on the tube 30.
The roller parrods 26 are now raised again to support the pipe 30 and the process described begins anew.
It is continued until the tube 30 is straightened to the required extent.
When the straightening work at a drilling point is finished, the supports 25 are lowered, the feet 23 and 24, the boom tubes 21 and 22 are pushed in, the feet 23 and 24 are folded up and the machine is ready to be transported to the next place of use.
By moving the rollers 16, which are located on both sides of the straightening die 13, the support width of the pipe 30 can be changed, which enables pipe bends of small and large radius of curvature to be straightened.
The machine described above has the advantage that it can be set up anywhere, completely independently of external sources, and in particular also at the drilling sites themselves.
Furthermore, hydraulically operated pairs of rollers make it possible to determine the point of the pipe to be straightened in a simple manner. A special recess in the straightening punch ensures good support during straightening and prevents local over-tension in the object to be straightened. A regulating valve in the hydraulic line ensures that the corresponding maximum pressures are not exceeded. The axial displacement of the support rollers also enables curvatures of different radii of curvature to be straightened.
