On the outer circumference with elastic material, in particular plastic, closed encased metal frame profile for windows, doors, partitions or the like.
The invention relates to a metal frame profile for windows, doors, partition walls or the like, which is encased in a closed manner on the outer circumference with elastic material, in particular plastic
Devices for sealing or holding or spacing glass panes.
Such frame profiles are known. They offer the advantage that the elastic material, due to its resistance, completely protects the metal profile against chemical and atmospheric influences.
In addition, there is no need to renew paint.
In the known frame profiles, the plastic casing surrounds the metal profile as a closed tube. This sheathing is relatively difficult to apply to the metal profile. Frames can only be formed from these profiles after the profile has been coated with the plastic, so that it is not possible to weld the metal profiles together to form the frame. If the plastic coating becomes damaged, it cannot be replaced.
According to the invention, the cladding has strip-like inserts made of elastic material, in particular plastic, which are provided with beads or ribs and themselves serve as a seal or holder or spacing of glass panes, which traverses the cladding profile in the longitudinal direction at at least one point are determined.
This enables the sheathing to be simply applied to a frame previously formed from metal frame profiles and renewed without destroying the frame. The casing is placed around the frame profile from the long side, whereupon the longitudinal edges of the metal profile are fixed by the insert strips. The casing can be removed and replaced by removing the insert strip.
If the sheath is traversed by strip-like approaches in the longitudinal direction at several points, then parts of the elastic sheath can be replaced if necessary. The sheathing of metal frame profiles of complex shapes is also facilitated. Likewise, the sheathing can be multicolored, in that the individual strips resulting from the crossings have different colors.
The insert can be provided with a retaining strip that can be fixed to the metal profile by means of screws penetrating it.
The drawing illustrates several embodiments of the invention. In a longitudinal section, FIG. 1 shows a pivoting sash window with double glazing, the blind and sash frames of which consist of a metal hollow profile with an L-shaped cross-section coated with plastic. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through a casement window with single glazing, the blind and casement frames consist of a plastic-coated steel profile with a C-shaped cross section. Fig. 3 shows in section a corner section of a double sash window with double glazing, the sash frame consists of plastic-coated square tube and in which the glass panes are held by glued-in plastic strips. FIG. 4 is a cross section through the middle frame profiles of the window according to FIG. 3.
In the case of the window according to FIG. 1, the casement frame is formed from a base frame made of metal hollow profiles 1 with an L-shaped cross-section, and the window frame is made from a base frame made of solid metal profiles 2 having the same cross-sectional shape. Both frames are provided with a jacket 3 or 4 made of elastic profiled material, which gives the outer shape of the profiles. The casings 3, 4 are interrupted in the longitudinal direction at two points and are traversed by inserts 7, 8. The inserts are made of elastic material, especially plastic. The longitudinal edges of the penetration points of the sheaths have beads which engage in the channel-like depressions between the flanges 5 and 6 of the metal profiles.
The insert strips 7, 8 thicken on the side facing the metal profile. The longitudinal openings delimited by the edge beads of the penetration points and the strips inserted into these have a dovetail-shaped cross section. The narrow side of this cross section is on the side facing away from the metal profile. Between the dazzling

frame and the sash, the insert strips 8 have ribs or beads 26 which form sealing stops, while the insert strips 7 on the sash are provided with ribs 27 which are used to hold and keep the glass panes 12 apart. In doing so, they cooperate with the glued-in strips 9 on one side of the wing and with lugs on the casing on the other side of the wing.
In Fig. 2 a window is shown in which the stick or frame and the casement are formed using C-shaped metal profiles 10, i.e. H. of rectangular, box-shaped hollow profiles which have an opening in the longitudinal direction in one side. The elastic sheathing 11 made of plastic is placed around the hollow profiles 10 and engages with beads at its edges into the opening of the metal hollow profiles. The insert strip 13 is inserted between the beads. The stops 14 and 15 as well as the stop lugs 16 are located on the plastic sheathing. 17 denotes the water gutter on the lower cross member of the frame.
The embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4 shows a casement which is formed using a closed, rectangular, metal hollow profile 18. The elastic sheathing 19 made of plastic, which is open on one longitudinal side, is placed around this metal hollow profile. The opening edges form ribs on the side facing away from the metal hollow profile. An insert 20 made of elastic plastic is placed on the opening, which at the same time forms a sealing stop and overlaps the ribs at the edges of the opening. Recesses are provided in the insert strip into which the ribs are inserted at the opening edges of the elastic casing. The insert 20 contains a retaining strip 21 and is fastened together with this by means of screws to the metal hollow profile.
The glass panes 22 are fastened by glued-on plastic strips 23, which cooperate with a shoulder of the elastic covering that extends between the panes. The frame or frame, which consists of a U-profile 24, is covered with the plastic profile 25 that forms stops.
