Trockenkanal.

Drying tunnel.
Drying systems, in which air supply and suction channels are arranged next to one another below the drying channel, respectively through openings in the ceiling. Various designs are already known in the sole of the drying channel in an adjustable manner. In all of them, it was found that, due to the proximity of the openings, the warm air entering the drying tunnel was partially sucked off with the used, moist air into the exhaust openings, resulting in a loss of heat. According to the invention, this inconvenience is reduced in the simplest way in that the walls carrying the tracks for the drying carriages between the air supply ducts are positioned beyond the bottom of the drying duct and in this way
EMI1.1
The drawing shows an embodiment of this invention.
Fig. 1 shows the drying system in cross section, Fig. 2 in horizontal section along the line E-F in Fig. 1.
The drying tunnel is intended here in connection with a kiln with a lower smoke outlet. The smoke exhaust duct is labeled S and is passed under the drying duct, Z are two lateral air supply ducts, the task of which is to transfer dry, warm air from the combustion chambers to the drying system. Next to the channels Z are two suction channels A, which open into the chimney. These exhaust ducts, like the air supply ducts, as far as the latter are under the drying system, can be regulated as required by sliders a and b. As FIG. 2 shows, the slides are offset from one another. c are finned heating tubes that are fed respectively by the exhaust steam from the machine. be heated.
The channels A and Z, as well as the smoke outlet channel 8 are covered with cast iron plates.
According to the invention, the rail foundation g, which is interrupted between two regulating slides a of the connecting channel, is located above the wall which separates the two adjacent channels A and Z. It can be seen that the hot air is not disturbed in its attempt to rise due to the detour to the exhaust openings.
