Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Device for the continuous separation of solids and liquids with a filter
The parent patent no. 195939 describes a filter in which the residue is thrown off from the disk-shaped filter elements in a manner known per se by centrifugal force, this process being supported by backwashing.

In certain cases, especially if the residues are greasy, sticky, powdery, etc., it has been shown that it is advantageous to assist the removal of the residues from the housing.

To this end, the invention proposes that the residues be discharged from the filter vessel with the aid of an injector. A discharge device designed in this way works excellently. The residues are discharged from the lower part of the container into a connected pipeline. The injector can also be attached tangentially to the boiler, whereby the residue is also tangential, i.e. H. cyclonic, be ejected.

By using an injector, the otherwise necessary large flap locks or slides are superfluous. The residues falling down or blown down or flushed are immediately picked up by the injector and pushed out through a relatively small opening or directly into a pipe and transported away. It is also possible to send the residues directly into an annular space or duct with hot air. If the residues may be discharged with liquid, such an injector can also be operated with water or another suitable liquid.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. In the housing 1, the filter elements 3, which have a permeable top side 4 and an impermeable bottom side 5, are arranged on the vertical hollow shaft 2. A fixed or height-adjustable line 6, which runs out at its upper end into a nozzle 7, is used to introduce a Hiltsmediums to throw off the residues from the elements 3. By a piston 8, which in a cylinder 9 an up and down -
 EMI1.1
Inflow nozzle 10 or through the inflow nozzle 11 is introduced into the cylinder 9, the pipe 6 and thus the nozzle 7 moves down or up.

The injector for discharging the thrown-off residues is designated by 12. It is arranged near the bottom of the filter vessel 1, preferably tangentially to its jacket.
