   Es sind Azetylenentwickler bekannt, bei welchen ein   überschüssiges   Gas in den   Kaminschlauch   ableitendes Sicherheitsrohr vorgesehen ist, das in das Entwicklungswasser eintaucht. Diese Einrichtung hatte jedoch den Nachteil, dass durch den aufgewirbelten Karbidschlamm das Sicherheitsrohr verstopft, bezw. durch herabfallende Karbidstücke ent-   wickeltes   Gas durch dieses Rohr abgeleitet wurde. Dies hatte zur Folge, dass einem unbeabsichtigten Verluste an Gas nicht vorgebeugt werden konnte. Vorliegende Erfindung ist nun geeignet sämtlichen Übelständen vorzubeugen und liegt das Wesen derselben darin, dass das in die Gasglocke mündende Sicherheitsrohr in das Sperrwasser eintaucht, zu dem Zwecke, einem Verstopfen des Sicherheitsrohres, bezw. Gasverlust vorzubeugen. 



   In der Zeichnung ist der Erfindungsgegenstand in beispielsweiser Ausführungsform veranschaulicht. 



   Der   Karbidbehätter   hängt an einer im Innern der Gasglocke 2 befestigten Stange 3.
