SpeiaewaS8 preheater with coiled pipes.
The invention relates to a device for preheating boiler feed water in coiled pipes by means of steam. In known devices of this type, the drawback asserts itself that the sludge parts excreted during the heating of the water settle on the inner wall of the coiled pipes. they can no longer be removed and thus impair the heating effect of the coiled pipes. This disadvantage is countered according to the invention in that the boiler feed water before it gets into the coiled pipes. is caused to separate the sludge particles beforehand. For this purpose, axially arranged pipes lead from the entry chamber of the water through the boiler room to a sludge trap room, to which the coiled pipes are connected.
In the axial pipes, the water is to be preheated by the steam flowing around the pipes up to a temperature that causes the sludge parts

pipes can no longer take place.
The feed water preheater according to the invention, which is shown in the drawing in one

Preheater tubes 5. the number of which can be any number, down into the sludge collector 6. which is conical at 7 and is provided at 8 with a removable plug 9 for temporary emptying. The sludge catcher is connected to the annular pipe 11 through the nozzle 10, to which the coiled pipes 12 connect, which open out into the annular pipe 13 at the top. The latter can be arranged on or in the cover 2 and is connected to the water drainage system 14. The container 1 is provided at the bottom with the steam socket 75 and the steam drain socket 16.
The preheater works as follows:
The boiler feed water to be preheated passes through the line 4 into the chamber 3 and from there through the vertical pipes 5, which are surrounded by the steam, into the sludge
