Hair dryer hood

see from the fact that the pivoting movement runs along an elliptical path, it is achieved that the
Fan acts longer on certain areas than on others, which is due to the different strength of the
Layers of hair may be desirable.
An additional effect of the pivoting movement of the fan in the drying hood is that at the points opposite to those at which the fan is directed, an air flow is sucked in between the lower edge of the hood and the head of the person being treated and a cooling effect is created there. effect. If the pivoting movement is circular, the circulating warm air zone is always followed by a zone of oppositely directed cool air, which makes the treatment much more pleasant.
An embodiment of the hair dryer hood according to the invention will be described below with reference to the
Description of the drawing, in which FIG. 1 shows a vertical section through the hood and FIG. 2 shows a section that is likewise vertical but offset by 900.
The hair dryer hood consists of a sheet metal housing 1, a cap 2 attached to it and a ring 3 connected to the lower edge of the housing 1, which is used to hold the head of the person to be treated and is separated from the upper part of the hood by a grille 4 . The housing 1 has an opening in its upper part, the edge of which is partially reinforced by an approximately semicircular ring 5 in which a bracket 6 can be pivoted in a bearing about a horizontal bolt 7. The
The housing 8 of the motor for the fan 9 can be rotated in the bracket 6 on bolts 10, which are connected to the motor housing by tensioning straps. The fan 9 is surrounded by a housing made up of parts 11 and 12, which serves to guide the air flow and also contains the heating coil 13.
The air sucked in by the fan flows downwards and past the heating coils.
An upwardly directed mandrel 14 is also attached to the ring 5, which in its upper end carries a sleeve in which a pin 15 is mounted. The shaft of the one used to drive the fan
The motor is extended upwards and drives a worm wheel 16. which is coupled to a worm 17 which engages in a further swivel wheel mounted on a shaft 18. The shaft 18 runs parallel to the motor shaft in bearings attached to the cover of the motor housing and carries at its upper end a disk 19 to which the pin 15 is attached in the vicinity of its circumference.
Will the
If the motor is switched on, it drives the fan 9 and at the same time the disk 19, which then circles around the axis of the pin 15, whereby the component consisting of the motor, the fan and the heating elements, which is pivotably mounted on the bolts 7 and 10, is activated , performs a tumbling motion inside the hood.
The constant change of direction of the hot air flow causes a thorough drying of the hair located inside the ring 3, since the hot air flow acts locally on the hair with constant movement and air eddies are also created as a result of the tumbling movement. This is facilitated by the fact that the fan also sucks in air from the points opposite the direction of flow.
The known, for air supply serving openings are, for. B. in the upper part of the hood.
In Fig. 1, the course of the air flows within the hood is shown by arrows. The fan is in a position in which the flow of warm air is directed towards the back of the head, with air being sucked in over the face of the person being treated and having a cooling effect. In Fig. 2 the fan is directed towards one head side, so that cool air flows in on the other head side.
