Device for reeling corn
In order to save the laborious re-digging of maize by hand, it was occasionally switched over to processing the cobs with devices. These devices have a roller in a housing, on the outer surface of which pins or similar projections are provided, which are designed as strikers and which form an approximately helical row extending lengthwise over the roller. In these devices, the wall assigned to the clubs and consisting of sections lined up along the roller is mounted in an elastically flexible manner.
The device according to the invention forms a further development of these known devices by perfecting the elastic wall, with the conical corn cob shape and the piston diameters assumed by the rebaring being met.
The device according to the invention consists in that the sections are slidably arranged on bolts perpendicular to the roller axis and the envelope of the support surfaces has a direction inclined to the roller axis, which intersects the roller axis on the side of the corn cob ejection, the support surfaces of the sections in the same direction, but stronger are arranged inclined as their envelope.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing, FIG. 1 showing the corn sheller in plan and FIG. 2 showing a section along the line II-II in FIG.
In a housing 1, the roller 3, which can be driven via the belt pulley 2 or the like, is mounted rotatably about its axis 4. Pins 5 or the like projections are provided at intervals on the outer surface of the roller, so that a row is formed that extends lengthwise over the roller. This row of pins is advantageously arranged obliquely to the roller axis and has, for. B. a helical shape. If several parallel rows are arranged, the pins 5 of one row are offset from those of the other in the longitudinal direction of the roller, so that when the roller rotates, they rotate as seamlessly as possible over their entire length and knock the kernels out of the corn cob.
As a counter-bearing, the piston is assigned an elastically flexible wall which is subdivided into a number of elastically mounted sections 6 ′ in the direction of the roller. According to the invention, the parts 6 'up' to the roller axis perpendicular to the pins are arranged by springs 7 to slide elastically. The

Roller axis 4, for example arranged approximately parallel to a row of pins 5 pivoted to the highest position, the actual support surface 6 ″ of each section 6 ′ being inclined more strongly than this towards the roller axis 4 from the envelope of the support surfaces 6 ″, so that in the illustrated embodiment the support wall has approximately a sawtooth-like shape.
The corn cobs thrown into the housing after opening the flap 8 are processed by the rows of pins 5, the cobs being subjected to a rotation about themselves.
In the device shown, the ginned corn cobs migrate to the right to the outlet part 9, whereas the kernels pass along the roller 3 through the slot 10 out of the device.
