Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Ni. 18540. OESTERREICHISCHE SIEMENS-SCHUCKERT-WERKE IN WIEN.
 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

The previously known holder with protective hood of insulators for attaching the latter to clamping bezw. Supporting wires, wall brackets, etc. Like., In particular those for railway overhead lines, consist of a casting in which the insulator is mounted.

This design has the disadvantage that the parts concerned are very heavy, require a lot of machining and the structure for the lines, such as. B. in the arrangements stir electric railways, make considerable demands. In order to reduce this stress as much as possible by reducing the weight as much as possible without reducing the strength of the
 EMI1.2
According to the present invention, the arrangement is such that the insulator holder, which is designed as a protective hood on the lower part, is composed of halves pressed in corresponding matrices made of sheet metal, such that the butt joint lies in a plane passing through the longitudinal axis of the insulator.

By crimping the flanges of one half over the flanges of the other, on the one hand a firm connection of these parts is brought about, on the other hand a tight seal of the butt joint is effected.

In the accompanying drawing, such an insulator holder for overhead railway lines is shown in two vertical sections (Fig. 1 and 2) and in plan view (Fig. 3). a and are the two halves of the insulator holder, c, d are the flanges. The flange c is beaded over the other flange d at c1. It goes without saying that these flanges can also be connected to one another by riveting instead of flanging. The flanges also germinate with advantage as a connection piece for attaching the isolator

will. The holder can also be manufactured in the manner described without a protective cover.
