Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Stopfapparat für Zigaretten, bei welchem die für jede Zigarette erforderliche Tabaksmcnge in ein um seine Längsachse drehbares, innerhalb einer Hülse gelagertes Formrohr eingeschlossen wird, u. zw. dadurch, dass der in einem Kanal befindliche Tabak von einem Kolben in der erforderlichen Menge durch einen Schlitz des Formrohres in letzteres hineingepresst wird, worauf durch Drohung des Formrohros die in demselben befindliche Tabaksmengo vermittelst einer scharfen Kante des erwähnten Schlitzes von dem im Kanal noch befindlichen Tabak abgeschnitten wird.
Ilicbei wird die auf das Ende des Formrohres aufgezogene Zigarettenhülse von einer federnden Klammer festgehalten, die vor der Drehung des Formrohres in einer gewissen Entfernung vom Rohr durch einen an letzterem angebrachten exzentrischen Ansatz gehalten wird.
