Control procedure for continuously working mixing plant.
On large construction sites, where the task is to produce large quantities of concrete under conditions that remain constant over a long period of time, for example in the case of dams, highways, etc., mixing plants that produce the concrete in uninterrupted operation (continuous mixer) are used with extraordinary technical and economic advantages. Such systems are mainly characterized by low power requirements, high dimensional accuracy for the composition of the mix and higher concrete strength. In detail, they consist of the actual continuous mixer, the silos for the different grain sizes and a number of measuring and conveyor belts.
Experience has shown that difficulties often arise on the construction site because the delivery of the concrete by the mixing plant does not correspond to the other work. The advantage of the system, namely its continuity, becomes a disadvantage if the concreting work does not come to a standstill so that the mixing system could also be switched off, but rather if the building material is only requested in small or even strongly changing quantities.
On the other hand, the shutdown of the mixing plant also brings difficulties insofar as the delivery of mixed concrete cannot be gradually throttled, but can only be prevented by suddenly stopping the measuring and conveyor belts. If the mixing plant is shut down after a concreting section has been completed, the amount of concrete currently in the mixer is lost, as it has to be discharged without being used. On the other hand, if the belts are shut down as "in time", there is a risk that the material in the mixer is not sufficient, so that the dreaded construction joints, which avoidance is one of the main advantages of the continuous mixer, occur. It is also not possible that To regulate mixer output by changing the number of revolutions of the mixer.
In this way, the amount discharged in the unit of time could indeed be regulated, but this method would not guarantee adequate and always uniform mixing, a fundamental requirement.
The invention avoids these disadvantages by means of a simple control method which allows convenient adaptation of the mixing performance, i.e. H. the amount of material with a constant mixing ratio to the current concrete requirement during operation. It consists in the fact that the mixer performance is only regulated during operation by uniformly changing the flow of all material components fed to the mixer.
To explain the invention, a schematic of a continuously operating mixing plant is shown in elevation in the drawing. 1 means the actual continuous mower, 2 a conveyor belt, 3 different measuring belts and 4 the silos for different grain sizes. The number of revolutions of the common drive shaft 5 is regulated in such a way that the amount of material coming through the conveyor belt 2 into the mixer corresponds to the current demand for concrete.
The quantitative proportions of the individual grain sizes remain unaffected by this regulation, since a reduction or increase in the speed of the shaft 5 has a uniform effect on the measuring belts 3, which are driven by friction wheels, for example. Any change in the quantitative proportions is, on the other hand, still possible by simply moving the small friction wheels 6 on the shaft 5.
If the mixing plant is to be shut down, for example at the end of a shift, its output is gradually reduced to zero in the manner described. This means that lost material

Quantities as well as unexpected deficiencies are safely avoided, thus increasing operational safety and economic efficiency of the entire system.
The control method according to the invention also allows the continuous miser to be adapted to temporary, mostly very sudden, operational disturbances. Can e.g. B. If no more concrete is removed for any unforeseen reason, the performance of the belts is not gradually reduced, but the belts are switched off immediately. At the same time, the direction of rotation of the mixer is automatically reversed, so that the mixing blades counteract the discharge of material. This means that the delivery of concrete is immediately prevented on the one hand, but on the other hand the material in the mixer remains in motion so that it is available again immediately after the fault has been rectified.
The invention thus combines the following advantages: 1. Great performance of the mixing plants due to uninterrupted operation, 2. Careful composition and mixing of the concrete regardless of the required output, 3. Convenient and reliable output regulation during operation, 4. Uniform effect of the regulation on everyone Material components, 5. Immediate interruption of the delivery of concrete without loss of material, 6. Immediate delivery of concrete when switched on again.
