  Indirekt geheizte Glühkathode für Entladungsröhren. 



   Es ist bekannt   (britische   Patentschrift Nr. 326617), die Anschlussenden eines für hohe Spannung bestimmten spiralisierten Heizdrahtes gestreckt auszubilden. Dadurch wird die Temperatur derart niedrig gehalten, dass eine Entladung zwischen ihnen nicht auftreten kann. 



   Bei der im Stammpatent beschriebenen Ausbildung der Kathode liegen nicht bloss die Anschlussenden des Heizdrahtes, sondern auch jene Teile des Heizdrahtes frei, welche die Verbindung zwischen je zwei vom Isolierkörper umgebenen Heizdrahtabsehnitten herstellen. Gemäss der Erfindung werden auch diese Verbindungsstücke gestreckt ausgeführt, zu dem Zwecke, die Temperatur dieser Verbindungsstücke möglichst niedrig zu halten.

   Die nicht vom Isoliermaterial umgebenen Teile des Heizdrahtes haben nämlich eine grössere Tendenz zur Ausdehnung als die von dem Isolierkörper umschlossenen Teile des Drahtes. so dass bei der Enge des zur Verfügung stehenden Raumes auch an den Umkehrstelle des hin-und hergeführten Heizdrahtes, also an den   Verbindungsstücken   zwischen den einzelnen vom Isolierkörper umgebenen Heizdrahtabschnitten die Gefahr von   Kurzschlüssen   besteht. 



   Die gestreckten   Anschlussenden   des Heizdrahtes bzw. die gestreckten Verbindungsstücke zwischen den Spiralabschnitten können entweder auf die Weise erhalten werden, dass man nach dem Spiralisieren des Drahtes, aber vor Einsetzen desselben in die Kathode diese Enden bzw. Verbindungsteile gerade streckt, oder man kann Vorsorge dafür treffen, dass während des Spiralisierens die Enden und gegebenenfalls auch jene Teile des Heizdrahtes, die die Verbindung zwischen den einzelnen Heizdrahtabschnitten herzustellen haben, gestreckt bleiben.

   It is known (British Patent No. 326617) to stretch the connection ends of a coiled heating wire intended for high voltage. This keeps the temperature so low that a discharge cannot occur between them.



   In the design of the cathode described in the parent patent, not only are the connection ends of the heating wire exposed, but also those parts of the heating wire which establish the connection between two heating wire sections surrounded by the insulating body. According to the invention, these connecting pieces are also made stretched for the purpose of keeping the temperature of these connecting pieces as low as possible.

   The parts of the heating wire which are not surrounded by the insulating material have a greater tendency to expand than the parts of the wire which are enclosed by the insulating body. so that, given the limited space available, there is also the risk of short circuits at the reversal point of the heating wire guided back and forth, that is to say at the connecting pieces between the individual heating wire sections surrounded by the insulating body.



   The stretched connection ends of the heating wire or the stretched connecting pieces between the spiral sections can either be obtained in such a way that these ends or connecting parts are straightened after the wire has been spiraled, but before it is inserted into the cathode, or provision can be made for this that the ends and possibly also those parts of the heating wire which have to establish the connection between the individual heating wire sections remain stretched during the spiralization.
