Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Steel alloys with high strength at high temperatures.
The invention relates to steel alloys which have high strength at high temperatures and for this purpose according to the invention contain 8-18% chromium, 2-12% manganese and 3-12% tungsten in addition to a carbon content of up to 1%.
Steel alloys that contain up to 0'5% carbon, 12--14% chromium, about 5% manganese and about 5% tungsten with the otherwise customary small admixtures of silicon, sulfur and phosphorus have proven to be particularly warm.
The type of heat treatment has no significant influence on the high temperature strength of the alloys. From already known steel alloys, which have high strength at high temperatures, these differ in that they are nickel-free and only contain silicon as an impurity.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Steel alloys exhibiting high strength at high temperatures, characterized in that, in addition to a carbon content of up to 1%, they contain 8-18% chromium, 2-12% manganese and 3-12% tungsten.
