Heat-resistant chrome-aluminum-silicon-iron alloys.
The invention relates to heat-resistant chromium-aluminum-silicon-iron alloys which have a content of about 0.5 to 2% carbon, about 20 to 25% chromium, up to about 2% each of aluminum and silicon and about 1 to 5% copper.
It has surprisingly been found that no melt-in materials of a particular degree of purity are required for this, which enables very economical production and a wide range of applications. Accordingly, various secondary constituents, such as, in particular, phosphorus and sulfur, can be present in accordance with the use of cheap sealing materials.
It is also surprising that a higher carbon content can be given, although in such alloys this was previously considered detrimental to high corrosion resistance. It can be up to 2%; the alloy can easily be cast with a carbon content of 0.8 to 2%.
If, on the other hand, forgeability is desired, the carbon content can be reduced to 0.5%.
The silicon content of the alloy could possibly also be over 2%; at a higher level, such as about 4 to 6%, however, the brittleness is noticeably increased.
The composition of the alloy can be adapted to various properties, such as shape, resistance to oxidizing influences, acids, etc.; For example, the following embodiments have proven to be very effective:
