Zur Auslösung von Schaltvorgängen zur Kontaktgabe oder als Anzeigevorrichtung u. dgl. verwendet man vielfach auf Wäl1l1ewirkung ansprechende Widerstände in Form von Drähten oder Bändern, die bei der Erwärmung durch den elektrischen Strom ihre Form ändern. Insbesondere hat man Doppelmetall hiefür verwendet, wobei das eine Metall eine grössere Ausdehnungsziffer hat als das andere, so dass

Ausschlag zu erhalten, muss man den Widerstandskörper im allgemeinen ziemlich lange machen. Da er auf seiner ganzen Länge vom Strom durehflossen wird, so ist sein Widerstand gross und damit wächst auch sein Eigenverbrauch.
Nach der Erfindung wird der Eigenverbrauch vermindert und doch ein hinreichend grosser Aus- sehlag erzielt, indem nur ein Teil des Widerstandes als Strombahn benutzt und durch den Strom unmittelbar erwärmt wird, während die Wärme auf den andern Teil durch Leitung von dem geheizten Teil übertragen wird.
