Rake for hay or the like
Deer for hay and similar fodder are already known in which a wheelless drum, which is arranged transversely to the pulling direction and rolling on the ground, carries radially positioned tine rakes. In itself, such hay rakes (so-called horse rakes) with a reed basket made of tines that can be pivoted about an axis are no longer new, in which the tine basket drags over the ground and pushes the hay together in front of it until the pressure or weight of the The accumulated hay is so large that the tine basket is swiveled upwards and releases or deposits the haystack, whereupon it sinks back down to the ground.
The subject of the invention differs from these hay rakes in that a pin is attached to the spoke of each tine rake which, when the rake tines are perpendicular to the ground, strikes a spring fixed on the drum axis and prevents the drum from rotating for as long as the hay accumulated on the rake does not overcome the force of the spring by its weight acting against the deer and the pin becomes free, whereby a partial rotation of the drum takes place until the next tine rake assumes the perpendicular position to the ground. Each time the spring force is overcome by a pen, the hay that has been collected is always deposited.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically and FIG. 1 denotes the front and FIG. 2 the side view of the hay rake.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the hay rake consists of a wheelless drum a formed from light rods made of wood or metal and arranged transversely to the direction of pull. uP1 its axis of rotation b is loosely rotatable. The axis b itself is firmly connected to the pulling device c. On the axis & and with it lockable connected. leaf springs d are arranged. Against these springs, when one of the radial tine rakes r attached to the drum a assumes a perpendicular position to the ground, a pin s which is attached to the radial spokes of the tine rake d.
Rotation of the drum a is temporarily prevented by these pins s, during which time the tine rake dragging on the ground pushes the hay together in front of it.
Further rotation of the drum is only possible again when such a pin leaves the spring. However, this only happens when the weight of the hay collected on the tine rake r is so great that it overcomes the elasticity of the spring. In this case, the drum a makes a partial rotation until the pin s of the following tine rake r rests against the spring and the process is repeated. Here, however, the hay from the previous rake was deposited.
The device can be placed on wheels for transport.
