Stoffüberzüge für Skistöcke wurden bisher auf die Weise angebracht, dass zuerst auf den Stockschalt ein Klebemittel aufgetragen und der Überzug hierauf auf den Schaft gewickelt wurde. Solche Überzüge haben den Nachteil, dass sie sich nach kurzem Gebrauch unter Bildung von hässlichen und störenden Fransen stellenweise vom Schaft ablösen, so dass der Überzug seinen Zweck, das Entstehen von Rissen oder Splitterungen am Schaft zu erschweren, nach verhältnismässig kurzer Zeit nicht mehr erfüllt.
Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet ein Skistock mit Stoffüberzug, welcher die geschilderten Nachteile vermeidet. Die Erfindung besteht im wesentlichen darin, dass der Stockschaft mit einer in mehreren Lagen um diesen gewickelten und vor dem Aufbringen auf den Schaft mit einem flüssigen Klebstoff getränkten Stoffbahn versehen ist.
Durch das Tränken mit dem Klebstoff dehnt sich die Stoffbahn ein wenig aus, und sie wird daher in gedehntem Zustande auf den Stock gewickelt. Sobald die flüssigen Bestandteile des Klebstoffes verdunstet sind, zieht sich der Stoff wieder zusammen, die einzelnen Lagen der Wicklung liegen nun fest aneinander und bilden so einen einheitlichen Überzug, der sich vom Stock nicht loslösen kann und einen guten Schutz gegen das Entstehen von Rissen oder Splitterungen am Stockschaft gewährt. Etwaige trotzdem entstehende kleine Risse oder Splitterungen beeinträchtigen die Gebrauchsfähigkeit des Stockes in keiner Weise, da sie keine Loslösung oder Zerfransung des Überzuges oder Teilen desselben zur Folge haben.
Der aus irgendeinem geeigneten Material, z. B. Flanell, Leinen od. dgl., bestehende Überzug kann der Länge des Stockschaftes entsprechen oder aus mehreren kürzeren Streifen bestehen, die nebeneinander auf den Stock gewickelt werden. Der Überzug haftet nach Trocknung des Klebstoffes fest am Stock und erhöht die Festigkeit bzw. Zähigkeit des Holzes, ohne das Gewicht des Stockes merklich zu erhöhen.
Der Stockschaft selbst kann aus irgendeiner zur Herstellung von Skistöcken gebräuchlichen Holzart, z. B. aus einem Tongking-oder Bambusrohr, bestehen. Durch das straffe Anliegen des Überzuges am Schaft prägen sich die Knoten des Stockes wieder aus, so dass das einem Tongking-oder Bambusstock charakteristische Aussehen erhalten bleibt.

Fabric covers for ski poles have hitherto been applied in such a way that an adhesive was first applied to the pole switch and the cover was then wound onto the shaft. Such coatings have the disadvantage that after a short period of use they become detached in places from the shaft with the formation of ugly and annoying fringes, so that the coating no longer fulfills its purpose of making cracks or splinters on the shaft more difficult after a relatively short time.
The subject of the invention is a ski pole with a fabric cover which avoids the disadvantages outlined. The invention essentially consists in the fact that the pole shaft is provided with a web of material wound around it in several layers and soaked with a liquid adhesive before being applied to the shaft.
When soaked in the adhesive, the fabric expands a little and it is therefore wound onto the stick in a stretched state. As soon as the liquid components of the adhesive have evaporated, the fabric contracts again, the individual layers of the winding now lie tightly against one another and thus form a uniform coating that cannot detach from the stick and good protection against cracks or splinters granted on the stick. Any small cracks or splinters that occur in spite of this do not impair the usability of the stick in any way, since they do not result in the coating or parts of it becoming detached or frayed.
