Kurven über ;

Vanity or the like.
The invention relates to vanity, bidets, sinks, bathtubs and. Like. With a drain channel controlled by a valve, an overflow channel and an emptying channel and is characterized by the combination of the following features: The drain, overflow and emptying channel have essentially constant cross-section along their length, smooth boundary walls without sudden changes in direction or steps and go into each other gradually through weakly curved
Curves over;
A rigid operating rod is used to operate the drain valve with a vertical axis, which is removably arranged in the overflow channel and whose shape is partly adapted to the curved shape of the overflow channel, and special guide devices are provided for the vertical guidance of the rigid operating rod. Due to their cooperation, the individual elements mentioned result in very favorable conditions for the drainage of the dirty water and cleaning. The rigid operating rod can easily be inserted into the overflow channel and removed for cleaning. In this way the three channels form a composite structure with perfectly smooth inner surfaces, which as a result can easily be kept completely clean.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 is a vertical section through part of a washbasin designed according to the invention along the axes of the drain and overflow channel, FIG. 2 is a horizontal section along the line 2-2 in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a section through a Part of another embodiment of a washbasin.
The washstand according to FIG. 1 has a drainage channel 2, an overflow channel 8 and an emptying channel 7. The latter continues in a drain pipe 10. The upper parts of the channels 8 and 2 and the lower part of the channel 7 have vertical axes. The channel 8 runs without sudden changes of direction and without projections, and its outer contour line consists of the curves ab, be and ed, which merge into one another, of a large radius. The rigid rod 16 which actuates the drain valve 4 slides in a sleeve 19 of the plug 20 so that it is guided perpendicularly and parallel to the movement of the valve 4.
The shape of the rod 16 corresponds essentially to the shape of the curves ab and be. The plug 20 may be attached to the vanity in any manner that allows easy removal, e.g. B. by the lever 26 with the covering 28 supported on the inner wall of the channel 8.
The short drainage channel 2 opens at the bottom of the basin 1 and also runs along slightly curved curves b'c'd '. The three channels 2, 8 and 7, the cross-sections of which, as already mentioned, are essentially the same along their entire length, form in their entirety a structure with rounded inner surfaces, without sharp corners, with smooth borders, without steps or constrictions and without parts attached to the walls of the channels 7 or 8 for operating the valve.
This special design of the channels results in numerous advantages. Above all, the dirt particles in the dirty water cannot settle or adhere well to the walls of the ducts, so the walls are mainly cleaned automatically. If further cleaning is necessary from time to time as a result of the precipitation of dirt particles on the channel walls, the valve 4 and the plug 20 with the rod 16 are removed, the shape of the rod 16 allowing easy and quick removal, and then either a wiper inserted into channel 2 or channel 8, e.g. B. a rag at the end of a

flexible rod is attached.
As a result of the channel cross-sections of the same size, the flow velocity is approximately the same at all points of the channels, whereby the wear is reduced to a minimum and evenly distributed over all parts of the channels and the risk of clogging is eliminated. Eg a jamming of the drain valve by accumulated sediments is avoided, since these are removed by the rapid drainage.
According to FIG. 3, the rod 16 supports the guidance of the valve 4, whereby the risk of this valve becoming blocked is even less. For this purpose, the rod 16 consists of two, e.g. B. by means of

Valve 4. With this arrangement, as a result of the guidance of the valve 4 at 54 on its spindle 58, guide vanes on the valve can be dispensed with, whereby any wear and tear on the channel 2 is eliminated. This advantage is particularly significant when the valve 4 is arranged directly in the channel 2, which is cut out in the construction material of the washstand itself, without a special sleeve or metal lining being present.
The adjustability of the parts 161 and 162 relative to one another makes it possible that
