<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
ist in diesem Fall an diesen Ring. H angeschweisst.

loch 3 luftdicht abdeckender Glastropfen 19 entsteht.

Electric light bulb with a base bolted to the neck of the vessel.
The invention relates to an electric incandescent lamp in which the base is fused to the neck of the vessel. The invention aims to simplify the manufacture and construction of such lamps. For this purpose, a ventilation hole is provided on the base of the base, which keeps the two power supply wires carrying the luminous element insulated from one another, which is closed by the glass drop of a melted ventilation tube attached to the hole. The end of one of the two power supply wires can be passed through the vent hole in the base base, which is conveniently located in the center, and melted in airtight manner in the final glass drop.
It is particularly advantageous if the power supply wire only protrudes slightly from the glass drop and at the same time serves as a lamp contact.
The base of the base can merge into a sleeve, the edge of which is fused with the neck edge of the vessel. However, the base plate can also be fused to the neck of the vessel, in which case parts for fixing the lamp in the socket, such as a screw sleeve or tongues, are then to be attached to the base plate closing the neck of the vessel.
Several exemplary embodiments of lamps designed according to the invention are shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a complete lamp in a diagrammatic representation. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 show sections through the base part of differently designed lamps.
7-10 diagrammatically show two further exemplary embodiments of lamps designed according to the invention, together with the associated sockets.
The lamp shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a spherical lamp vessel 1 which can be vented or filled with suitable inert gases. A screw sleeve 2, which consists of an alloy with suitable expansion coefficients, such as a chromium-iron alloy, is melted onto the neck edge of this lamp vessel 1. This screw sleeve 2 has a central vent hole 3 through which an axially arranged power supply wire 4 is passed. In parallel with this power supply wire 4, a second power supply wire 5 is provided, which is welded to the inside of the screw sleeve 2 or its base 6.
On the axially arranged power supply wire 4, a glass bead 7 (Fig. 1) is attached, in which radially spaced apart holding

for the second power supply wire 5 are melted down. During the manufacture of the lamp, a vent tube 11 is attached to the vent hole 3 and melted, which is melted after venting the lamp and, if necessary, filling it with gas, so that a glass drop 12 hermetically sealing the vent hole 3 is created. In the latter, the free end of the power supply wire 4 is then simultaneously melted in a vacuum-tight manner. The power supply wire is cut off just below the glass drop 12 and then forms one lamp contact.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, a ring 13, which in turn consists of a suitable metal alloy, such as a chromium-iron alloy, is fused onto the edge of the vessel. The screw sleeve 2
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
is in this case to this ring. H welded on. It can be made of any metal alloy, such as brass. The fastening of the two power supply wires 4 and 5 is essentially the same as described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, a screw sleeve 2 is again melted onto the edge of the vessel. The bottom part of this screw sleeve is designed as a connecting piece 14, to which a vent tube 11 is melted during manufacture of the lamp. After the lamp has been vented, the vent tube is then transformed into a small cap-like drop 12, which in turn receives the end of one power supply wire 4.
In the embodiment of FIG. 5, the neck of the vessel 1 is melted by a

To produce plate 15, it consists of a suitable alloy, such as a chromium-iron alloy. On the metal plate j! 5 is a screw sleeve 16 made of a suitable metal or a metal alloy, such as brass, welded or soldered on. A metallic contact plate 18 is attached to this screw sleeve with an insulating ring 17 in between. The base plate 15 has a centrally arranged ventilation hole 3 through which the one power supply wire 4, which runs in the axial direction of the lamp, is passed.
The other power supply wire a runs parallel to the lamp axis and is in turn welded or soldered to the inside of the base plate 15. While the power supply wire 5 is connected to the screw sleeve 16 of the base via the base plate 15, the axially extending power supply wire 4 is connected to the contact

Hole 3 airtight covering glass drops 19 is created. In the latter, the axially extending power supply wire 4 is then also melted in airtight manner.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the neck opening of the lamp vessel 1 is again closed by a metal plate 15 fused to the neck edge. A screw sleeve 16 is also welded or soldered onto this metal plate 15. The latter, however, surrounds the lower neck part of the lamp vessel 1. The arrangement of the two power supply wires 4, 5 is also the same. Only in this case the axially running power supply wire 4 fused in the glass drop 19 is cut off just below the glass drop, so that it then simultaneously forms one contact of the lamp.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 7, three radially protruding tongues 20 are provided on the metal plate 15 fused to the edge of the vessel neck, which serve in place of the threaded sleeve for fastening the lamp in a corresponding socket. The filament luminous element 9 carried by the two power supply wires 4 and 5 has in this case a straight shape. Both power supply wires are braced against one another by two mutually directed support wires 22 fused in a glass bead 21 l. The associated with the lamp, inFig. 8 socket shown consists of an insulating plate 23 to which three spring clips 24 are attached, in which the tongues 20 of

drop 19 is used.
When the lamp is inserted into the socket, the end part of the power supply wire 4 protruding from the glass drop 19 makes contact with a leaf spring 26 which is attached to the underside of the plate 23 and is used for power supply.
In the lamp shown in FIG. 9, three retaining tongues 20 are again attached to the metal plate 15, but in this case they are bent inward. The version shown in Fig. 10 has, similar to the version of FIG. 8, three spring clips 24, but with regard to the

When the lamp rotates, its tongues 20 are inserted into the brackets 24.
