Description

The invention relates to an electric lamp consisting of 'a lamp bulb, with current leads led out of its pinch base and a lamp base. The lamp base is constructed from a base sleeve acting as a contact and a metal cap supporting the lamp bulb, the metal cap being fitted into the base sleeve with a predetermined play and the two parts being inextricably linked.

A 0 024 060 describes a lamp in which, in accordance with the preamble of the first claim of the present patent application, an inner sleeve carrying the lamp bulb is arranged in a sleeve-shaped base. Inner sleeve and base are connected to one another in that the base has inwardly projecting projections over which the inner sleeve having the grooves is inserted. In this way, the lamp bulb is at least secured against twisting relative to the base. In order to avoid movement of the lamp bulb in the axial direction, the power leads protruding from the lamp bulb are tightly tensioned and soldered to the base contacts.

The inner sleeve can also be placed in a latching manner over the projections of the base, so that the connection of the power supply lines to the base contacts only has the function of an electrical contact.

These known types of connection are provided only for holding the lamp bulb in the base. However, there are also lamps for use in optical systems, the spiral position of which must be pre-adjusted relative to the base.

Lamps for a motor vehicle headlight, for example, must be adjusted such that the same light distribution is still achieved when the lamp is replaced with the lamp / headlight lighting system.

Small incandescent lamps, for example for use in flashlights, bicycle headlights, etc., are also pre-adjusted. In these lamps, a first contact is provided on the base base and the second contact is formed by the base sleeve.

The invention has for its object to provide a connection between lamp bulb and base sleeve in lamps whose base sleeve forms a side contact, which allows easy adjustment of the helical position to the base during manufacture and which can be produced with as few operations.

The object is achieved in that the metal cap has at its outer edge a groove running approximately parallel to the base axis, into which one of the ends of the power supply lines is inserted and the base sleeve and metal cap are connected to one another by introducing solder into the gap between the two parts are.

In this simple way, an adjustment of the lamp bulb and thus the filament relative to the base sleeve is possible before the lamp bulb is finally connected to the base sleeve in a certain, adjusted position by means of the metal cap.

The invention is described in more detail below with the aid of an exemplary embodiment. Show it
  • Figure 1 is a socketed electric lamp
  • Figure 2 shows the metal cap in plan view
  • Figure 3 shows the metal cap in section.

The lamp in FIG. 1, a halogen incandescent lamp, has a lamp bulb 1 made of high-melting glass. A tungsten filament 2 serves as the luminous element. The bulb 1 is filled with inert gas with halogen addition and is closed at the lower end by squeezing. Power supply wires 3 lead through the pinch foot 4 to the outside. A metal cap 5 engages on the pinch foot 4. The pinch foot 4 is received from its opening 6. With inwardly bent tabs 7 (FIG. 3), the metal cap 5 is supported on projections 8 of the crushed glass. The metal cap 5 is cylindrical. Also cylindrical is the lamp base 9, in the metal base sleeve 10 of which the metal cap 5 is inserted with a predetermined play. The base of the sleeve forms a base stone 11 and a central base contact 12. The base sleeve 10 is a side contact. Accordingly, one of the two power supply wires 3 leads to the ground contact 12, the other, however, is guided with its end 3a between the metal cap 5 and the base sleeve 10. The wire end 3a is inserted into an edge groove 13 of the metal cap 5. The edge groove 13 runs approximately parallel to the base axis. Another edge groove 14 is provided which is diametrically opposite the first. After the adjustment, by using the predetermined play between the metal cap and the base sleeve, the adjusted lamp and the side contact are soldered in an annular manner to the base sleeve 10 by means of solder 16.
