cut to withstand the forces that strive to move the points H and Hi at the transition of movable overloads to the supports, and it must be tensioned enough so that only a relatively small sag occurs.
In the case of large distances, the horizontal position of the cable CHH1C1 can be secured by known means. For example, for this purpose, the middle part HH1 can be attached to a suspension cable E (Fig. 3)

being held. To hold the side parts, it may be sufficient to connect them to the hangers g (Fig. 3) or to the holding ropes (Fig. 4) of the bridge track.
The type of action of the cable CHHiCl on the points H, Ri does not change if its shape deviates from the straight line and its position deviates from the horizontal position. One can arrange the cable according to FIG. 5 under certain conditions, where the points R and. Hi of the suspension cable A are connected to one another by a horizontal part of the cable and, in addition, each is connected to the pillars by inclined symmetrical strands bH and b1H1 of the same cable. Of course, the cables bH, HH1 and H1b1 can also be separate from one another, without this changing the way the device works.
Several points on the outer parts of the suspension cables can be roped in the manner described, as shown in FIG. The points H, H ', Hi, R \ can be connected to each other either by horizontal cables HH1

is which latter point lies towards the other pillar and is in turn connected in the same way to this pillar. It is not absolutely necessary that the parts of the suspension cable that are facing the pillars and that are stiffly cut by the rope system extend over a third of the entire span.
The design concept that is explained for the overloading bridge (Fig. 2) can also be used for the chain suspensions of electrical contact lines (Fig. 8). The suspension cables k of the catenary l are stranded by horizontal cables i which are attached to the masts P and to which they are connected to the hangers s crossing.
The feed lines themselves, which supply the contact line, are expediently used as cables i. For this purpose, the feed lines are attached to supporting masts that have been appropriately selected and must be able to withstand the horizontal force that counteracts the displacement of the points to be determined on the supporting cables.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Bridge construction according to patent no.133195, in which cantilever girders that always remain tensioned and stiffening support cables attacking the outer parts of hanging trusses with parabolic supporting cables are formed, characterized in that the positions of the supporting cables to be determined are connected to the nearest pillars by holding cables and the connection points of two holding ropes connected to opposite pillars are connected to one another by a cable with a suspension cable, this connecting cable and the holding ropes being only stretched so far that they do not have any significant passage.
2. Chain suspension for an electrical contact line with stiffening construction according to Anspruehl,
